Been a corvette/shelby owner for years. Picked up a m4 comp about a month ago after giving up my search for a new gt500. Absolutely love the car so far. First BMW ever for me..

Indeed surprised as well, Frankie.
Yes, welcome new M members. It's my 3rd - went from a 2015 F82, to a 2013 E93 (which I'm keeping), to just picked up my TB G82. Last edited by KevinGS; 06-29-2021 at 10:54 PM.. |

Then audi stopped making a 6MT and my disposable income put me into the bracket to afford an F80 m3. it was the greatest weekend of my like, june 22, 2016 when i took delivery of a YMB F80. I was 34 years old. Now i can afford a GT3 and i still bought a G80. I just f*cking love the brand.

Yeah, I had looked to see if any GT500s or ZL1 Camaros were around. Zip. A couple of Hellcat Chargers--not a 4 door fan, and one Challenger, white, which I don't like on any car that isn't a '92 Subaru Loyale...had one, btw, as winter beater in NH. Pos, but great in the snow. Happy with my M4C. Right decision.

It’s my first M car. My second BMW. I only bought it because they changed the design. I knew from research they improved the suspension and they changed the looks of it drastically as everyone knows. But unlike F80 owners I love the changes. When I decided I was going to buy an M car the first thing I thought I was going to get was the F80 M3. I test drove many of them. I could just not get over how rough they were plus it wasn’t even as fast as my tuned MB 2016 C450. So to me it would’ve been a downgrade to go from that Mercedes to the F80. Then my dealer told me about the G80. I read up on it and watched the BMW engineers describe the improvements to the suspension. Plus it was to have 503 hp! I was sold. I placed my order. Fully loaded. No regrets.

This feels much more like a complete car to me. It's not as fast as a z06 or gt500 but it does everything well from my perspective. Handling is top notch. The American cars usually only do a couple things well and then lack in other areas. I found shelbys but they were anywhere from 15-30k above msrp and I just couldn't justify that. I might be converted to M cars

I did not. I went back and forth on it and decided if I wanted it later I would get that and more with a Dinan tune when they become available for less money.

The G82 will be my 2nd M car.
My first M car was a E36 M3 (2 door version). I LOVED that car and to this day is still one of the only cars that I really regret selling. I promised myself that I would purchase another M car later in life. I kept delaying this decision year after year. After the pandemic hit, I had a lot of time to do some soul searching so I decided life is way too short and that time is now. Just pulled the trigger recently on ordering a 2022 M4 (6MT) and I am so looking forward to owning and driving a M again. I ordered the Dravit grey because it was the closest color to my original M. My wife and I are working on a baby so it was a good time to look at getting rid of my c63s AMG coupe and get into a 4 door. In looking at the main performance models (Alpha QV, Cadillac CT-5v, C63s/E63s, Audi RS5) I just could not get over the bold styling and mean stance of the G80 M3. Not to mention I am getting the xdrive where I know it can support any power mods I start to put on the car.

Personally I’m coming from tuned Audi A4 -> P-car -> G80. First BMW and M
Mostly came to the brand for the practicality of 4 doors and holding the flame of 6MT. A few months into ownership and I’m very happy w the purchase. Design, value for performance, comfort... all wins. Plus, it’s almost the Chevy SS that was too ugly for me to pull the trigger on!

This will be my first BMW M4 car I ever owned... So far the biggest hurdle has been getting an allocation ( in Southern California) to place the order....

First M3 for me.
I've lusted after the M3 ever since the intro of the e30 in 1996. I had a few friends whose Dad's owned one form or another of M cars. Funny enough, I've owned several BMWs (various 3 and 5 series), but I've never driven an M car. Including the 2022 Comp xDrive I purchased. When I pick it up, that will be my maiden voyage. For me, the M3 is a bucket list item. And I'm finally in a position to own one. It's been a long wait.
