Took a chance and ordered my build with the buckets.

My dealer got in a car from BMW NA for a local event that had the buckets, so I went in to the check them out. They are absolutely not the easiest to get in/out of. That said, once you're in, I found them extremely comfortable and hugged you in there. I am 6' 210lbs for reference.

Is your car a manual or auto?

Have any of the new owners of the bucket seats gone on drives longer than 3 hours? If yes, how did your legs feel with that hump in the middle the whole time?

But this could change when the car is actually driven.
That could just be your opinion, no way I'm going with the standard seats, this is a sport car and I feel that it should have sports car seats. if you want the whole track day experience this are the seat the car should have.

Check this article about these CFB seats.

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/a...s-149653.html#
That article falsely claims the Carbon seats are ventilated, so it's hard to say any of the article has any merit.

I didn't get the Carbon seats because they do get uncomfortable on longer trips. And luckily there are aftermarket alternatives for carbon backs (one now and I'm sure more to come).

I will say though that the Carbon seats are absolutely gorgeous. I just wish they would have padded them a little further. Then it would have been an easy decision.

Drove 9+ hours from PCD to Florida , seats were comfortable. Once you’re in them, very good back support.

Only issue after multiple hours driving nonstop , leg can feel a bit tired but after a while you get use to it. As for the bump , not an issue for me but it will depend on your body type , height etc.

My Wife also had no issues and likes them. Getting out is what you need to figure out the easiest way for you and make it a habit.

There's two giant holes in the back. There's your ventilation

works better than actual ventilated seats so I hear. I've had the cooled seats in the past, they were mediocre at best

That’s very nice to hear, since I am also from Florida & doing PCD. My trip back will be 18ish hours since I will detour through the mountains, then Atlanta to see my dad, Jacksonville to stay with a friend, then on my way back to South Florida. Will be over 3-4 days.

I’m in an interesting situation. I am paralyzed and one of my issues in all my cars is my legs sometimes sway when taking turns so I have to constantly adjust my legs while driving. The bucket seats with the wedge will help to keep my legs in place. The second reason why I chose these seats was because it’s the first racing seat I’ve seen that’s electric. Since I’m paralyzed I can’t move a manual seat so I’ve needed one that’s electric. It’s the only reason I haven’t put racing seats in my E92. Now I’m checking to see if these can be retrofitted for the E92 as well which I believe is possible since there is a retrofit for F8X seats and these seats can fit F8X’s.

This echoes my thoughts, too. I'm 5' 8" 175 lbs bodybuilder build... local dealer had/has a M4 comp with buckets and I went to try them out. Getting in and out is a bit awkward but they are great once you're in.

I have them specc'ed on my build and will use this car every day.

This is good to hear since I'm 6'3" and 230 lbs. I was about to change my order today but decided to stick with the CF seats.

Any drivers over the age of 40 who own a car with the sports bucket seats? Very curious to hear your feedback on the daily drivability of these seats. Thx.

I'm 37. The seats are tricky to get in and out of like everyone says but once I played around with the seat setting for about a week and got them just right they are pretty comfortable. Drove for a few hours and no issues or back aches.

Iv been driving my car for over a month now. Iv been travelling long distance and short distance. I weigh 80kg. The seats are perfect for me. They are snug and have a perfect driving position. The second you master getting in and out with the help of your arms on the door sills, your good. Not having cf buckets for me would kill the soul of the interior. BMW did an amazing job with these seats. Each time I sit on them I love them even more.

Bottom line is the seats are nice looking, unusual and sporty. That said, they are difficult in both entering and exiting with the extremely tall side bolsters. The hump that is positioned between ones legs when sitting feels odd and irritating. I assume these seats will enhance the value of the car when trading or selling but I regret purchasing that option. For reference I am 5'7" and medium build.

Finally got a chance to sit in these and now have no idea why anyone would order with them unless they plan on using as a track car. They look unbelievable but they are awful to sit in. Rock hard and the bolsters are annoying. No way in hell I'd order them for a usable car.

depends on your size, age, and a variety of things. I loved them from my brief time enough to order
