Port Installations

Hi Folks,

I just placed order for M3 and I have also ordered some options that will get installed at the port (such as M3 sport suspension, front bumper carbon lip, Alcantara arm rest, etc...).

Can anyone who has experience with port installs chime in and share:

- how long extra their car waited in the port?
- were you able to get original parts that were installed in the factory? (such as oem springs if you installed sport suspension in the port)....

If you order anything port installed that replaces OEM parts (like wheels or springs), no, you will not get those parts.

Ask your CA. Shouldn't add any perceptible delay at port VDC. 1 day at most.

It’s usually 3-4 days minimum. In some cases it can be 3-4 weeks!

Depends on what is being added, which port, and the workload at the port.

No, huge upgrade from the MP HAS on the F8x. Paired with the carbon buckets it's incredible.

MP HAS is $3155 now, so not sure what else has changed.

My port installation of HAS in July of 2024 added 1.5 weeks to the delivery timeline.

Bmw mfg tracking is really not reliable.On top of that unknown on oem option installation eta makes me nuts. They should be way better managing their supply chain.

Car arrived at the Port on 06/27 and MPP HAS, Front Lip, Flow Thru Spoiler all installed and released on 07/19...

BMW is better than most though, especially here in the US and the added convenience of the Genius line. I’ve been ordering vehicles for a while now, and BMW is definitely on the upper end of how they handle and track vehicles.

I got 911 992 s this year with Porsche. And it was super predictable.

Yeah Porsche is one of the few that does this better, but they produce less vehicles and are at a higher price point.

Seems MPHAS in particular adds 3 days to 3 weeks with average being about 1 week.

Mine was NJ/NY port if that helps.

I know that adding any of the carbon bits has significantly increased wait time for everyone I've spoken to. I think there may have been supply issues.

I added the M Performance suspension to my latest build, but I have an individual color too, so I am anticipating a fairly long wait overall.
