But maybe Porsche discussions are best left for Rennlist?

Really?? Ive been a long standing member here and this section is quite appropriate. I know countless members who appreciate my diverse ownership experiences.

Ive posted all my cars M (had 12) and others because real members here ask questions and appreciate perspective.

By all means report my thread to the mods and lets see what they tell you and your vast forum experiences here and elsewhere.

You asked a question and I answered it and then you make an obtuse comment like this LOL.

Wow, not sure why I deserve this public berating, but I just thought we were starting to talk too many Porsches and not enough BMWs. My bad, I guess. I also guess you feel you can speak to others like that since you've owned so many cars. I guess I'm just wondering why you've owned so many, and if any of them are truly able to satisfy the desire for an exciting driving experience, since you trade them so frequently.

Its a versus section --- you should probably go spend some time in the F90 M5 versus section as well (a lot of comparos). Almost all the members here are looking or providing value. Id like to think Ive done that over the past 13 years or so here with some humor too. I have met quite a few members in person and answered thousands of questions and PM's with specific needs.

My apologies for your inference that I berated you as well.

Lets get back the discussion of the thread topic and if you want more thoughts about the GTS vs my M3X Ill be happy to opine.

I don't have a dog in this very minor, and hopefully very quick to pass, fluff up. In my OPINION no one was berating anyone. As for the Porsche talk in the BMW "versus" forum, I love it! As the owner of a M4CX I am guilty of spending too much time window shopping for P cars: Cayman GTS 4.0 (love the interior and wheel options, maybe perfect daily 9 months of year in snowy Idaho), Cayman GT4 (think it's better looking, but not fan of interior), the C4S for my snowy climate, the Carrera S (local P guru and engineer says it's all the 911 I'd need in a daily, but my thirst for #overkillpower and ego rules it out, ha) so it comes down to the likes of vic55's GTS (reading about it as the neighborhood GT3 shrieks by) and other P cars. Heck, I'm guilty of Tesla Plaid reading, and thank goodness for the factory yoke otherwise I'd have one even after my abysmal Model 3 ownership experience. Why, oh why, did vic55 have to post pics of his modified round wheel?? Now that temptation is something to be upset about in this forum, ha!
Maybe I'm living vicariously through the objective input by so many on the one or two Porsche "versus" threads. No one is forcing me to click the title with Porsche in it. I won't pay ADM so these types of threads will have to do for now. Even when I get a Cayman EV (gasp) I'll still drool over and still get overwhelmed by the 991 vs 992 vs G8X vs....
Anywho, those are my opinions.

What a sick 992. SB is one of my favorite colors.

A real world video with tests on the street. You can hear the exhaust and mine is much like that but probably 50% louder.

100-200 real world tests put it at 7.9 seconds ... not sure what the G80X is???

Actually found this where the Comp is faster than the GTS4 --- impressive in the 100 to 200 segment

No I didnt, Lotus never caught my eye due to prior iterations but I do believe the latest version is more impressive.

The original Evora handled very well, better than the contemporary 987 cayman on ACH, but it definitely lacked power and refinement. The later 400/GT models seemed to have addressed those issues. I'd love to get my hands on one to test. As the Hagerty review mentions, it seems destined to be a future classic.

I have owned and own several M cars and nearly bought a Porsche twice - 911 and GT4. The first one was sold right when I came back to the dealership. I have since then debated about buying a Porsche 911 and was playing the game with the dealers about getting on the list for MSRP and waiting for an allocation. GTS or T are the 2 models I am interested in, GT3 has become quite expensive now. It is impossible to buy a Porsche in the USA anymore unless you know somebody and/or pay ADM, and as OP highlights, a significant ADM for a new, and even used models (no need to further discuss).

The comparisons between Porsche and M cars is always interesting because many people cross shop them. I wish I could score a GTS right now. This is how sick the Porsche market has become, email I received from Paul Miller Porsche in NJ :

Unfortunately,
we certainly will not receive enough allocations in this generation for me to offer you a vehicle.

additionally, management has changed here in past year and they will not a specialty vehicle like a GT# to be sold to new client that are outside our geographic area.
so its not likely i will be able to offer you a GT# allocation with a reasonable time going forward.

pre owned vehicles are different how ever always far above msrp these days.

if i remember correctly, you only wanted a stick??

if interested , i may have a pdk gt3 vehicle to offer you if interested,

2022 black w/black, pdk, wing, buckets, ceramics, well equipped, full ppl, 600 miles , like new

approx $65k over msrp....msrp approx 198k

Im seeing that the winged GT3 market is slowly pulling back... those price points are so high that the dollars in play have to adjust. The Turbo market is doing the same; the peak was so damn high that it could only last so long.

But in general GT cars will survive the test of time... such a brilliant piece of machine.

Always Back in

Having spent 15 months with an M8, I'll say the 911.

Yeah I hear ya--- I just dumped the GC after about 20 months but the coupe is more fun than the GC.

You had a coupe right?

And to your point, neither 8 drives like my GTS.

Yeah, I had a coupe. I loved the luxury features, but I think the G82 is more fun to drive.

I wont disagree there--- now that I have an M8 coupe with some exhaust mods, I can really enjoy the speed and sound which the G80 lacks due to the inline 6. (even with my full exhaust).
