Just cross posting here from Week 40, was status 150 production begins (since Thursday 9/30) and told I would finish Friday 10/8.
Today I moved to 151 exterior assembly begins and now told build will finish Monday 10/11... that makes me Week 41 technically speaking. I might be the first one in this thread to hit 151?

Once the car is built you should figure on 30 days for the east coast and probably the south, west cost think 60 days probably more with port holds. They aren't getting the car from the plant in Germany to a US coast in a week. Might be doable on an SAV from SC plant.

So.....guys I've spoken deeply with my friend in Monaco asking for infos one mine. Just to resume, mine was ordered the 4th of june in Italy, initially planned for a week 35 build, then 40 and status 112 since the beginning of sept. Then on monday the bad news. pushed back to status 111.
He told me, just to clarify, that what we see as a "conf. prod. date" is the maximum build week re-expected from the system, but it's probable now that the delayed cars, will move on asap in the production pipeline. If the car cannot meet the status 150, it's pushed back automathically to 111, but it's probable that it could be built earlier, maybe it's being built now...but I don't know unfortunately. It's a lottery...that's why a user here who had a week45 build, yesterday saw his car produced 5 weeks earlier than scheduled. Mine for instace, was scheduled, but it's likely it to has a lack of an optional supply that didn't create the conditions to put it into production. You see that in Baltimore almost 300/400 m3's/4s are sitting there for weeks waiting for the RAM retrofit, so for these owners in my opinion, the situation is even worse, because their car is under the sun and weather. This happened because in order not to stop the production they decided to build uncomplete cars, but now they're facing several logistic problems to fix them. That's why it's not easy to allocate new cars also for the US market in the last weeks, and for the upcoming probably. So, what he told me is to be patient, the situation is extraordinary even for BMW which has a consolidated schedule supply, but it's difficult to create a right program. I know for sure that nearly 60 M3s are built every day in Munich, no more. The majority for the US market, mine, at least until the 13th will not be built, as he doesn't see any M3 for Italy for now. Mine has been pushed back as you know, but it's better it to be build fully spec'd rather than sitting on a car park for weeks waiting for the retrofits in my opinion. It's true also that a lot of customers didn't experience any stop-sale, but as told, it's a lottery guys. We ordered our cars in the worst period for the car industry since WWII .

I feel for y'all that are purchasing your cars, getting PPE/ceramic coating and they are sitting at the port. Prior to this current build, I had 3 ED's including a F83 TB that sat at the port, but there was no damage, and all were leases.
Benefit of a lease is a new factory paint job in 3 years. Who was entered body shop?

I would suggest to BMW to deliver directly to dealers the incomplete cars, and there let them wait for the retrofits.... in order to keep customers calm and let them look at their cars at least.

I was told yesterday that my build will complete on 10/14 and that production began on 9/29. Website still shows production begins and has been that way since the 29th. Also just have to say that the new genius phone system SUCKS! |
