These tire sizes are correct for the 1000M in the G8x - they are (front/rear) 26.5"/26.6" in diameter, compared to 26.7"/26.8" in the 285/295 combo. OEM diameter is (front/rear)) 26.6"/26.7"

The 0.1" over the OEM tire diameter is what is rubbing the liner.

I have 5mm spacers all around with my 1000M wheels and still have rubbing up front at full lock.

Honestly, BMW just did not do a good job of testing these in full with a stock setup…or at the very least they did proper testing but just didn’t give a fuck and is selling them anyways.

I don’t regret getting these wheels in the least bit as they look killer but given the quality control issues in paint I’ve experienced and the fact that they rub on a stock setup just leaves me a bit disappointed since these are OEM and they should be perfect.

Any updates with this? I am considering adding the 1000m wheels to my build. The only thing holding me back was really the look of such a small sidewall but now this rubbing issue seems to be a bit of a problem.

The dealership changed the fender liner but they can’t seem to give me a proper reason for the issue in the first place.

The reason is the tires’ sidewall height - they are using the wrong tire size for the G80.

I have the same exact wheels and tires as OP and do not have rubbing on the rear fender liners.

These are the correct tire sizes as sold by BMW themselves for the G8x.

I do have 5mm spacers all around so that could possibly account for no rubbing in the rear on my G80. However, it still stands that these are the tire sizes sold directly by BMW specifically for the G8x cars.

Hello

i installed the 1000M wheels with my 15mm spacers in the front.
They rub...

I removed the spacers, and they dont rub anymore.
but it looks like shit now

I want to try 10mm spacers, but on the r44 website i read this:
"Please note: 10mm spacers SHOULD NOT be used on any G8X vehicles."

why would that be?

Hi Dieter, this is due to several experiences, including mine : the 10mm spacer goes too far inside the wheel and is bent. It's 0.5mm too long. So go to another brand or 12mm spacers works fine as they have the same base than the 10 mm ones but 2 mm less going into the wheel hub.

It is DANGEROUS to have those 10mm spacers on (the Bimecc ones).

What? The only difference between 10/12/15 mil spacers should be thickness and that's it. Are you saying the 10mm is more than just that?

In fact, at least for the Bimecc one, it is not !

I don't have them with me (I'm at the office) but let me explain with numbers (false ones)

The total height of the spacer is 27mm so including the part that goes inside the wheel). And that 27mm height is the same for the 10 and 12 ones.

So for the 10mm spacer, you have 17 mm of material going inside the wheel. For the 12mm spacer, you only have 15mm going inside.

And here is the point : inside the OEM wheels (I have both 826 and 827m) there is not enough length to accomodate 17mm but only 16.5. So the thin aluminium edge of the spacer is bent inside the wheel ! And you only discover it when you take your wheel off ! Spacers screwed !

So you can fit 12mm spacers because only 13mm goes inside.

I did two pics when I had the problem then you understand. First pic is the new spacer (12 mm). Less height. Second pic is the 10 mm spacer and you can see it is bent on the edges. It was very hard to get off the wheels !
