February PCD Deliveries

Starting this thread for Feb PCDs. I am scheduled for Friday February 3rd. Planning to spend an extra night at the Marriott and drive back to Boston on Saturday (4th) Morning.

Hoping to make the drive back on the stock summer tires ! I do have a set of winters back home that I will switch over.

I hope to be a member of this thread... Hopefully my car has a smooth transition through VPC when it unloads (either next couple days in Baltimore or next week in Brunswick) and I can get PCD scheduled for mid-February. I've already convinced my wife that we'll celebrate Valentines Day the weekend before....

First off congrats! But also dang my cars gets to Brunswick 12/26-12/28 range and assuming good vpc process and also the holiday shutdowns I was planning on end of January…

guess there all booked out?

Did you pick Feb or was that earliest available?

What port did your car enter?

What date did the ship arrive?

How long were you at vpc?

How long was transit from vpc to pcd?

Lmao that was a lot so really really appreciate and we should def meet up! I’m looking for local g8x cars since I’m also in the Boston area!!! After PCD I’m going to be stopping in DC, Philly, NJ, NY with 2 nights most likely in DC and NJ.

Did you pick Feb or was that earliest available?

What port did your car enter? Hawaiian Highway first stop was Baltimore I think and then Brunswick

What date did the ship arrive? Dec 10th to Baltimore and I think the 12th to Brunswick

How long were you at vpc? This I don’t know. I got the dates this week so presumably it was around 2-3 days and then was sent to SC ?

How long was transit from vpc to pcd? It can’t have been more than 2-3 days

Yeah i have the winters all ready to go here in Boston briefly looked into shipping them to century BMW in Greenville or one of the local tire shops but the UPS freight quote I got was $745 ! And also I am not sure if 4 wheels/tires will fit in the car for the ride back since I do have a passenger and the front seat is taken

I’ve been told 4 tires can fit with serious compromise but allowing a passenger … depends on how much personal luggage you have lol. I will be having 3 passengers + myself so 4 people with 4 peoples worth luggage … so can’t bring ‘em with me. What setup did you go with for your winter wheel and tire? Oem thru dealer or custom picked?

I went with 19s all around from super speed wheels in Canada - got the information from several folks on this forum. Tires are 275/35/19s from tirerack - vredstein. Never heard of them before but the reviews look decent.

Congrats !!! If u can, try to spend the extra night at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Downtown Greensville. Its beautiful and only about $100 more than the Marriot and its a beautiful hotel with the view of the waterfall. As much as I liked the Marriot, it outdated and old and nothing much to do around it. If u r in downtown Greenville, there are a lot of places that are walkable and worth checking out. I stayed a total of 3 nights at the Marriott and wish I knew about the Grand Bohemian coz it would have def been a place to stay !!!

If you fold the back seats completely, you can fit 4 tires - 1 in trunk and 3 in back seat and fit a backpack and 2 small carry ons. But for the cost of shipping, dont know if its worth it.

Nice! Thanks for passing this along. I'll be in the Greenville area for a couple days after PCD while I wait for PPF so I'll definitely check this place out.

Even if you arent staying, go check it out. It just opened 2 months ago and they allow visitors to come in and see their main area and spend time in the lobby. They have a lot of giant Geode and art displays in the lobby and a nice balcony overlooking the falls. They also have a nice restaurant thats overlooking the falls. So def worth a visit if u r going to downtown Greensville. Only downside is finding parking if u r visiting other there is a valet if u r staying there

Awesome. Any more recommendations for things to do? I'll have a full day and evening to kill. I was considering going on a hike in the nearby mountains depending on weather conditions (Pinnacle Mountain trail). Also have a friend who opened up a candy shop near Clemson so will probably pay her a visit. Probably check out the CCA museum, Zentrum...

The Falls park on Reedy is in downtown Greensville, it also has the liberty bridge which is a suspension bridge over the river and pretty cool. At the end of the bridge is this hotel. There r also a lot of restaurants nearby this area. Wanted to try the “Smoke on the water” BBQ restaurant but didnt have much time. If u have a day, u could drive up to Asheville and visit the Biltmore Estate if weather is nice. I heard the gardens are beautiful. It rained for 3 days for me so I couldnt go.
