For all we know he could be a Bosch employee who does this as a side hustle or a close friend of one.

Tuned plenty of cars in the past on BMW Bosch ecu’s and other platforms and the idea that one person in the world magically has the tables/discovered it on their own is a slim chance close to 0. They would likely license it out by now and sit back/collect a paycheck if they did without inside help.
I agree with this, remember on the old E36 platform, nobody could tune that car with a custom tune beside Nick G and he worked with Jim Conforti and got access to the DME. I heard they were insiders with access to the system.

You're better off removing the secondary catalyst in the system the gains with removing the primaries just isn't that great. I am going to go with this system after I get my car. I have the Dinan heat exchanger in my F80 and was really impressed with how well it worked.

I'll bite, so what are the gains in removing just the secondaries?

The Stage 2 is not offered for manuals.

A few people have confirmed from talking to Carbahn tech’s directly, that the manual crowd is getting a stage 2. It might make 25-35 less HP, but it’s coming.

How was the carbahn controller? Did you really feel the difference?

Car definitely feels like it pulls harder than it did when it was stock. It's a noticeable difference. Haven't ran any draggy times to confirm but my butt dyno can feel it. I've had it for so long now I couldn't even imagine driving this car stock again. Actually changed my mind and I will be getting the Stage 2 installed!

I finally got a response from my dealer today. It sounds like they have only done stage 1 stuff with heat exchangers so far, as he had no idea the ECU has to go to FEMTO.

I pointed him at the Carbahn page with the info, so now just waiting for them to get back to me.

I worked with the local Carbahn installer today to determine the costs for the Stage 2 Software upgrade from the Stage 1 Controller.

NOTE!!!! That if you are upgrading from the Stage 1 Controller to the Stage 2 Software the cost is $250 for the upgrade from the Controller to the Software PLUS $500 for the upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2!!!

Like I told my installer $500 isn't going to make the difference in my choice to upgrade, but it would have been nice if that was more explicit on the Carbahn page.

What is the Software plus? On the Carbahn website I only see stage 1 software, stage 2 software, and their stage 1 power package.

Do you plan on doing a before/after dyno?

I wanted to do a dyno with the power controller but hard to find places in the Bay Area ca. I found one place near me that has a dyno but when I showed them my car they had no idea what a dyno mode was and made me nervous so I didn’t end up doing it. Maybe they will dyno it at carbahn? Idk… Also to give everyone a heads up the power exchanger isn’t cheap to get installed either! Kinda caught me off guard but oh well do it right the first time I always heard.

Heck 0-60's times (several) before and after would be huge. Getting tired of watching these youtube video's w/ two guys sitting in the front seat screaming at each other how much "faster" it feels. ..lol.

Hahaha! I know what you mean! My 0-60 will still be trash for me since I own the RWD model. I’ll get some 60-130 times after the install when I get my draggy.

Would love to see a pic of the installed heat exchanger. I'm considering it to keep cool on track but not clear how it mounts since it doesn't replace anything.

I’ll post it. Probably about 3 weeks from now since about 10 days for FEMTO.
