Carbahn just dropped their Stage 2 Ecu tune with ecu unlock. The amazing thing is you can retain your factory warranty and it's dealer installed

Check out the link for more info on WHP numbers price etc:

Oh yeah, this is happening...

"If you want to trade your CarBahn Performance Controller in for software in the future, there is a $250 upgrade fee and if you purchased the warranty, it is transferable to the software at no additional charge!"

Yes sir! It appears that they are using Femto as well. $1475 for the unlock with remote start and $100 bucks for burble overrun

Wow, this is going to open the flood gates for tuning IMO.

Lot of people that were on the fence have a bit of peace of mind now when unlocking

Noob question, if DME is unlocked and flashed with their Evo software, can I later down the road re flash with BM3 or MHD?

Also are there any custom tunes on Evo or is it locked down/proprietary to Carbahn?

Anyone know if a dealer would do this on a lease? Doubtful on that but if I’ll be picking up from United BMW in GA and would definitely wait an extra 1-2 weeks for the FEMTO unlock and this

I’d imagine that it would be the same restriction as BM3 that you have to flash it with the unlock or you have to send it back to Femto again iirc

So are most dealers carbahn or fairly rare? About to do some searching so was curious.
Seems like a great option for sure with warranty here

Don’t think most dealers are. If you are in the San Diego area, Vista BMW is.

I am honestly surprised BMW doesn’t just do in house tuning at this point. The money they could make is insane.

Certified tune that would cover warranty for a premium. I would pay.

So let me get this straight, and please slap me if I'm wrong, but I can get my brand-new M4 Comp xDrive tuned to ~730-740hp on normal pump gas, AND keep the factory warranty????

How is this even possible? This is going to be my first BMW, so I'm not familiar with the aftermarket on them. Does this "brand" have a history of doing aftermarket stuff for these cars but letting you keep the warranty?

This seems way too good to be true. But if it is, I might just cry tears of joy...

The way it works is that if bmw denies, CarBahn will cover the costs provided no foul play from the user. Generally speaking. Best to reach out to them for specifics.

Had CarBahn on my F80 when I was under factory warranty and was a good peace of mind until the end and then went to BM3

Also it’s only covered if you pay for that extra cost.

So basically, I pay that $1500 "fee" to match factory warranty, and they will at no cost whatsoever, fix anything that goes wrong if BMW denies it? (Assuming no user bs)

That seems pretty crazy to me. (in a good way). I don't see why anyone would use anything or anyone else now that this is being offered...

It’s good if you want a no frills tune vs BM3
Can’t run ethanol or do any tuning like BM3 but it gives peace of mind which is why I went with them while I had my warranty.

That's fair. Of course you'll definitely see more power with E, be it flex or full 85, but as you said, peace of mind during the warranty period far outweighs the power gains. But once that warranty is up... May as well have some fun!

I will say, I'm definitely impressed with the numbers. People are saying getting 750-800 on flex or full E is considered good, including catless downpipe. These guys are hitting 740 with all stock parts (except added heat exchanger) on pump gas.

Part of me is slightly suspicious on how that's possible, or maybe Dinan is just that good. Hmm...

You are mistaking WHP with the crank

Carbahn Stage 2 is hitting low 600 to the wheels on pump only, while E is pushing 700+ to the wheels which would equate to 850+hp

When tuning your BMW, it's important to understand that the factory warranty will not be retained, regardless if the tuner is Carbahn or any other brand. BMW does not differentiate among various tuners.

However, unless a modification directly causes damage to a stock component, your warranty should remain unaffected.

In the uncommon instance where a modification damages a stock component, the dealership might deny warranty coverage for that specific repair. In response to such situations, Carbahn provides its warranty as a safeguard.

This approach has proven to be a brilliant marketing move for Carbahn, as they understand the likelihood of such an occurrence is exceptionally low.

I think it's funny they're using Femto

How has no one, besides this one guy in the world, figured out how to do an unlock on these DMEs?
