H&R Sport Springs ride height
I’m looking into lowering my G82 xdrive. I’ve done some looking around and the H&R sport springs seem like a good option. I don’t want the car to be too low, just want the wheel gap to look more natural and not so gaping.
Does anyone have experience with these springs or similar ones? I’m afraid that lowering the car might cause me to scrape or take away from my ride quality. |

The sport springs are not that aggressive; it lowers the car by 1.2 in the front and 1.0 in the rear. Its daily driver friendly.

Per H&R website it's 1.0 for the sport in the rear

Direct from H&R's website below...
H&R Sport Springs (part #: 28616-1) lower the BMW M3 and M3 Competition approximately 1.2” in the front and .40” in the rear, and work with factory Adaptive M Suspension, improving handling for a more precise driving experience, plus they create that cool H&R stance. Ausgezeichnet! Sport Spring 12 w/ Sport Suspension, w/ Adapt. Suspension 1.2 .40 28616-3 Super Sport Spring 12 w/ Sport Suspension, w/ Adapt. Suspension 1.4 1.0 50498-77 (The 28616-3 is the xDrive variant, whereas the "28616-1" is the RWD I believe) Just didn't want anyone confused is all, no harm no foul! I'm also interested in this set. How does the alignment look after the drop? Do I need to get a Camber kit or everything is still within spec? Thanks

I have a G80xdrive on 12/15 f/r spacers on H&R sport springs. Zero rubbing and zero problems going over speed bumps or steep driveways (as long as you go an am angle) since I have a front lip.
The only place I scrape is my parking garage in NYC. The driveway goes up and then down which causes my back wheels to still be low when the front wheels go down. I'm thinking about going back to stock but only bc of this one garage issue. I also considereling switching garages since the fitment is so perfect and I don't want to go back. |

H&R Sport Springs (Front)
Left front side by side of the H&R Sport Spring lowering. Both photos were taken straight at the center cap level.

This is my M3 with H&R Sport Springs on the front. No spacers yet in this picture. Stock vs H&R Sport

can anyone confirm that the Xdrive models have a higher stock ride height than RWD models? this is my assumption from all the photos I see of lowering springs etc.

Maybe 5 miles. Haha! Should settle some. I'll take another pic in a month.

Dumb question, but if I'm looking for a slight drop only to keep it year round driveable and would likely never use the height adjustability, is there any other benefit to going with a HAS kit as opposed to just springs with H&R or Eibach? For example, are the KW springs that much better or does the kit come with anything else that would make it worth the price vs springs alone even if I never adjusted the height?

I am trying to decide on Sport Springs as well. The HAS sounds good in theory but everyone that I see that has them has the fronts bottomed out and the rears cranked to the top. Seems like the adjustability it taken out at that point. |
