Mines arrived yesterday from Baum. I tried to take te center console trim out to remove shifter but could not get the front to clips to release. This video shows how to remove on a G20 which is same process for ours. Console trim removal at 5:51 mark

I just ordered this yesterday from BMW Parts Pros and their description states, "Easy DIY with prying tools to remove your plain console trim to BMW's "M3 Competition" engraved trim."

We shall see.

Those front clips are a nightmare. Some videos show them popping out easily - fought with mine for a good 30 mins, and nearly broke my trim before they came out.

Ordered it too! Someone on a FB group said they removed it with a butter knife; risky - I would use a trim tool, but said it popped out without having to remove anything else. I am wondering if a dent puller/suction cup would work better like someone posted a picture of earlier in this thread. Pull straight up to release?

Ok so I just tried lifting with a trim tool and it works took me like 10 seconds..Easy mod to make interior a little more special if you don't have.

Did the trim tool leave divots in the gloss black under the word "Back"? Or is that just the photo?

Thanks for that, just got my car today and ordered the thing to replace it. Was sad that they discontinued on the 23's. But hey, we got the stupid xDrive badge instead

I would do Baum BMW since you're in Germany. They have them in stock

This is the part number for the M4. The only issue is on all of the sites the part is not labeled M4. Also says fits other BMW models. The part. below is from Paddleshifters. It's the same on other sites. No label M4. If anyone fins one please post. Its one of the 1st things I want to do to my car along with coding in Anti Dazzle and coding out Active fake BMW sound design engine noise.

That's the wrong Part #. That's for the plain gloss black panel. See my previous post with the correct M4 #'s

Rules of the road. 3m blue tape. Any reputable shop will blue tape any part that is subject to removal.
