I think the ZL1 runs 325 But we have to keep in mind that ZL1 is literally designed to be a track weapon with plenty of compromises while our cars are a great street/track daily hybrid. I run 5 seconds slower than a GT500 with the track pack and more experienced driver at my track. But I'm just intermediate Curious if XDrive would address your concerns about coming out of corners since that's exactly what it does best on the track. Can't wait for mine and see how my lap times will be!

I am happy with the suspension settings and it will enable me to not burn through front tires in 3 days like stock does. So its onto the next weakest link…brakes, and the idiotic brake by wire system. The track guys have an endurance pad they think would last longer. Ill have to see how it is on rotors. High copper content or something. This is supposed to be fun right?

Umm, damn you get on track a lot. These cars are incredible right out of the box, my friend gives me shit when I complain about the cost, paying for the speed!
Fighting with computer? I’ve only had one track day so far and I ran DSC off and M Dynamic mode. I assume there are still some nannies on in this mode, what do you run on track? |

I trip the precrash sensors 3x a lap in the braking zones. That's annoying. Ive tripped power reduction mode twice because of brake temperature sensors. Theres stuff you cant turn off

Had the codes read at the dealer and they told me that the brake system detected excess heat and that puts the car in reduced power mode. It does not put up any messages when this happens. It was super confusing at the times it occurred. I have done some pretty long sessions, where I went through a full tank of gas (actually two back to back on Monday). I went through a brand new set of front pads in those two sessions, where I did about 10 warm up laps and 40 fast laps totally 120 miles. (some really pushing). I think the car is much better if you keep it to a few hot laps, then let it cool down. Its not an endurance racer...Fun tho..

Just to ensure I am keeping up with your saga, you blew thru EBC Blue Stuff front brakes in, essentially, 120 track miles?
Based on your other post and my 4, 30 min sessions on track I am wondering if the Stock Pads would last longer. Rears were GONE but fronts still have 50-60% left after that. My first 2 sessions were a bit slower paced as I was getting to know the care but the last 2 were mostly all in. I am definitely looking forward to giving everyone my feedback on the Carbotechs but that will not be until late Feb and only if the weather cooperates. Side note, super encouraging that you found a way to make the tires last a bit longer! |

I have happy with the suspension as it is. I would not lower with the stock dampers with the amount of track driving I do. I will wait for coil-overs from Tractiv.

One more question beachBmmr, did the dealership say the brake heat issue was measured at caliper / rotor or from fluid? I assume you're running an upgraded (non-OEM) fluid…

So this is not a new problem and might explain the accelerated rear brake wear people are seeing. There's a lot to unpack here and Ill start a new thread in the track section.

This is actually quite exciting, but no point going nuts at the front is the rear tops out earlier. |

Just want to confirm I had my BMW dealer install the millway street camber plates on my brand new M4 (plates originally installed on my M340i)
We managed to achieve -3.00 of camber and combined it with 0.01 of toe in each side for a nice neutral handling. Rear was left in stock specs at -1.35 of camber combined with 0.07 of toe in each side.
