Anyone sold their G8X for a profit?
I've been looking around online and noticed that prices on low-mileage 2022 M3s and M4s have skyrocketed over the past month or so, with some being listed in the $115,000 to $125,000 range. Has anyone sold, or considered selling, their G8X for a profit?
I'm loving my G82, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to sell for a quick $15-20k. Of course, that's considering that these cars are actually being sold in that $115-125k range. Last edited by Flatbush_Xombie; 05-25-2022 at 12:55 AM.. |

Sold my my21 to a 3rd party dealer for 10k profit. I think its fine as long as you have a replacement lined up since there's adm in all brands at this time.. I sold mine because I pcs to korea and took advantage of the 10% msrp discount for a my 22.

Used G8x prices have been like this for more than a year. I see several high priced ones to be sitting in dealer inventory for a while and believe they have started to decline.

Those vehicles listed for 115k are not selling. There are not that many desperate BMW fan to pull that off. Remember a dealership/private party can ask for anything they desire doesn't mean it's selling!

Brought my lightly spec M4CX home yesterday. Had offers before picked up and still have offer to sell for profit, about $10K USD. Thing is, this car was one of two that checked all my boxes for needs vs wants, and I can't get another BMW or the other option for at least a year or more. And I am NOT driving my winter beater in the meantime; did that after selling the Tesla and before picking up the M4. Truly a first world problem, but to a car enthusiast, well, let's just say I didn't drive as much those 3 weeks, ha.
The only car I'd sell my M4 for a profit is a manual CT5 Blackwing, and those are impossible to find at any price. I take that back: $30K ADM is an option but not for me. Nothing touches my M4CX for my needs living in snow region in terms of spec, performance and price under $100K. Selling for profit is like selling my house for profit: can't afford to upgrade. |

Agreed. I paid $77k for mine after small discount. Then drove it for 2k miles and listed for $98k. Had offers around 88-90k from whole sale dealers but got 0 interest from private party.. took the $90k and ran! I did have an M2 that was local and fairly priced so figured I could pocket 8k after taxes and put that towards lowering total cost of the used m2. At some point this will all calm down and I will pick one up again when times are more "normal"

My MSRP was almost 95k.. if someone was gonna give me 110k for it.. I would slap the stock exhaust back on and run. LMAO
Edit, actually.. I probably wouldn't. Because after tax, title, license.. and the M maintenance package.. I was at 105k out the door. Probably need more than 110k lol |

Now that MY23 prices have been announced, that will likely help prop up resale values on MY21/22.
A similar effect happened ten years ago with the introduction of the Nissan GT-R, which was priced very competitively at first — under $90k if I recall correctly — and then they raised the prices (and some specs) substantially every year.
