House of cards is weird. I am not as big a fan as others are, not just because I am a fussy SOB but because the show has it's flaws. The characters very, very quickly get unbelievable and the last season is truly terrible.

I also have a massive hate on for Robin Wright.

HoC is essentially over after season 3 or 4. It's one of those shows where season 1 was by far the best so it's a collage of diminishing return episodes from that point on....Kinda like Dexter

Agree completely. First few seasons are solid, then it goes downhill rapidly. I didn't even finish it, that's how bad it was.

highly disappointed. The Firm ended season 1 with a cliff hanger to the main story line... and wasn't renewed for season 2. I'll never know the ending.... the Bastards at NBC need to do a wrap up episode/made for TV movie. I looked up the series on line and found NBC changed the night and time 3x during season 1. It never got the following it deserved

My wife has lost interest in Jack Ryan too. 2 good seasons, then crap. S3E1 couldn't hold my attention for 30 minutes. My wife made it to S3E4.

Watching Echo 3 on Apple. Started off well, but tailed off for most of episodes 4-5. Then episode 5 ended on an interesting note. Will stick with it.

Jack Ryan season 3 has been wtf to me. It feels like a drawn out, lame season of “24” with Jack Bauer. Krasinski’s (and everyone’s) acting is a little lame. Dude looks like he’s always thinking for some reason. They try to be cute cutting back and forth with all the typed out locations every fcking 5 minutes!! The lamest one was “Santorini, Greece.” LOL no idea what that had to do with the show as they showed it for 30 seconds and then back in Vienna. I’ll finish the show but after episode 1, I kind of lost interest. I’m 3-4 episodes in now and lost even more interest. I do wanna see how it ends though.

I have yet to watch Jack Ryan Season 3. I'm hearing a lot of bad reviews in this thread. I'll still watch it for my own assessment but wasn't expecting it to get panned.

In other news, I've started Treason. Seems decent so far. I'm one episode in and it's good enough for me to continue.

I enjoyed Treason, good show.

Other than the usual US saves the world vibe I also enjoyed Jack Ryan. Don’t know what people expect from this type of program? You know what you are going to get with it, if it’s not your thing don’t watch it.

If you read the posts, it’s not that people don’t like that type of shows. It’s that this season isn’t as good as the first two.

Avenue 5.

I haven't genuinely laffed at a show in a long time. It's childish humor, but exactly what I need. Just turn off your brain and let Occam take the wheel.

Watching Chernobyl. The pommie accents are a bit off-putting but the superb cast makes up for it. The two stand outs are the big haired boss of the plant (nervous, always smoking) and the minster for energy, both actors absolutely NAIL the role.

Wonderfully produced and directed, if even half of it is true it is a bit of a head shaker. What is interesting is that despite all the dire warnings, the actual deaths and long term effects of the radiation appears to be far less than anyone anticipated over the past 30 years.

Well worth a watch, if I am being critical it COULD have been 4 not 5 episodes, didn't really need the fireman arc but that is just me.

We started 1899 last night, watched the first 2 episodes. The English overdubs with the mouths not matching really hurts me from getting into it. And the pacing is SLLLLOOOOOOWW, thus far.

I spent a good portion looking into professional certifications.

It just got cancelled so I’m no longer gonna watch it as I’m sure there’s a cliffhanger.

I'm two episodes into Peaky Blinders. It seems pretty solid so far, but before I invest in 6 or 7 seasons, any suggestions if I should continue it?

And just for a recommendation of an oldie but goodie that I haven't seen mentioned in the thread:

Deadwood.

Of all the HBO shows, I think it had the best character development and equaled the Sopranos in making you relate to bad people. I liked that they tied up all the lose ends with a movie a couple years after HBO and the creators had a falling out.

I'm three episodes into 1923 and I'm enjoying the storyline so far. Developing characters is ongoing. Episode three was the best yet.
