I was surprised. I was ready to take a MY23.

In the meantime, some other manufacturers can't even make enough regular seats. MB stopped taking crew and passenger van orders for the rest of this year due to seat shortage.

Called genius just now and told me the car is stated to start production on May 15th, since I actually think is week 20, still no VIN assigned so I'm a little skeptic. Gonna stay in this thread until production starts.

You can either call Genius and they will let you know the production date or you can use the F12 Hack or Dev tools. Here's a thread on how to access dev tools:

Just checked myBMW and moved to "production begins" (I believe this is 150?) and ... most importantly, I have a VIN!

isn't it early to be going to 150 for week 21? so were you guys bumped up? I am week 23 and still at 111, but if 21 is going to 150 already i'd assume week 23 would be 112 by now?

Yes. Once you get to 150 and VIN assignment, the whole "Week XX" becomes moot since they assign a specific production date (which you can see through the website, using the DevTools) that indicates the expected completion date of production. For me, that's May 6, which is the end of Week 18, i.e. a three-week improvement over the original Week 21 assignment. We'll see how that holds...

I couldn't find the DevTools on the myBMW website/tracker and I couldn't find a link on the sticky here on Bimmerpost. Sorry to be a bother, but do you have a link on how to get into the DevTools? Thank you!

It's a browser feature. In Chrome, View > Developer > Developer Tools. Then navigate through the "Session Storage" to find the details...

EDIT: You're saying that is when production will be finished, or when it actually begins (moves from 150 to 151)? [Regardless, still better than a Week 21 production date!]

End of the week, beginning to mid next week you should have a vin if all stays on schedule. Keep hope alive!

For better or worse, my CA said that he had 4 cars (unsure whether they were all originally scheduled at week 21 or not), and 2 of them (mine included) went into production today and 2 did not.

Why are you concerned? Week 20 ends May 20, so if all goes according to schedule (for whatever that's worth nowadays), you'd move to 150 by the end of Week 18 (May 6).
