Top Speed Limiter?

I decided to opt for the sunroof. In doing so I noticed that I could not also get the M Driver's Package which increases top speed to 180 mph. It may be early days yet, but does anyone know if this is something that can be after-market adjusted without causing any problems (such as warranty or other performance issues)? I participate in track events and the extra top speed will come in handy.

Out of curiosity, which tracks are you going to where you need to climb over 155mph?

Primarily Poconos and Watkins Glen (both have long straights). There are other tracks in the region I haven't driven yet but hope to once my M3 arrives.

Not a car but I've done track session at NJMP on my 2011 ZX10R; 172 mph on the thunderbolt track front straight.

Cars also run this track; they may touch 150+ I guess.

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison there.

I'm not comparing bikes to cars

I'm using my bike as a "reference point" of speed.

NJMP thunderbolt track runs cars and bikes.

I'm reaching 172 an M3 could touch 155

One can simply code out the speed limiter when coding options are available to the platform.

You can only code speed limiter within the first 10hs... then it gets locked out and you can only overwrite with a ECU flash

Well darn, there has to be a way later on. The $1,000 from the $2,500 Driver's Package is just to remove the limiter
