Not expecting anything materially different, just curious if there will be any other changes aside from headlights given the camo. Waiting for LCI before placing my order so it's piquing my interest

Place your order now and tell them you want to wait for an LCI allocation...otherwise you're just going to drop further in line.

I can totally accept these new DRL shapes if they keep both projectors/light sources.
These look really good on spy shots of M4 GT3 Evo!

that is really interesting. All the shots so far only have one projector but two projectors is very nice.

They gave it port injection which was a surprise to everyone. S58 intake manifold is already molded for port injection, just needs to be drilled. Factory controlled port injection is much preferred than aftermarket from a tuning perspective.

Is there anything confirmed apart from new headlights and power bump for G80/2? I can pick up M4 in my configuration from the dealer right away with a very nice discount.

I don't see the headlights being that big of a deal, unlike F82 LCI. The most important part was the interior LCI, which AFAIK already happened.

I assume option bundling may change. I'm hoping that since Tartufo buckets are available on European G81 cars, they will be available on G80/G82.

iD8.5, which is not a major enhancement imo.

I was told by the dealer there might be ID8.5 update to pre-LCI too, but I am seeing mixed opinions on bimmerpost. Technically, ID8.5 is re-skinned ID8 to match ID9, whereas ID9 is on a different platform. But I am not an expert. We will have to wait and see.

I was told this too but don’t think they’re right, ID8.5 seems to require a new head unit. Feels like I was mislead so that they could push me to order a MY24 instead of waiting for the LCI.

There's a published list of iD8 cars with the new head unit and that are upgradable to iD8.5. The G8x is not on that list and cannot be upgraded.

Correct. However, do we know that the LCI will not get the new head unit?

its not just re-skinned id8. id8.5 requires new head-unit which has a more powerful hardware specs in it, thus making it more future proof for future idrive upgrades.

definitely has a better CPU and GPU or one of these as I recently saw this news recently:
https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/01/08/b...deo-streaming/

Here it specifies that "To access this feature, vehicles need to have BMW Operating System 8.5 with ConnectedDrive Professional or BMW Operating System 9 with BMW Digital Premium. Initially introduced in the new BMW 5 Series, this platform is now being rolled out to other luxury class models like the BMW 7 Series, BMW iX, BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW X5 M, BMW X6 M, and BMW XM. Owners of vehicles with BMW Operating System 9 and BMW Digital Premium gained access to the video app at the end of 2023. The plan is to extend availability to other models in 2024, such as the BMW X2 and all vehicles within the new MINI family."

So definitely certain software upgrades or features will not be possible for idrive8 head-units due to its lower hardware specs.

They're not available as a standard option, but rather an Individual Manufaktur option. Germany seems to allow it but other European countries restrict it.

No one knows anything for sure, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that the LCI will get iD8.5, so that means the new head unit. I think it's only the "abandoned" models like the 8 and Z4 that are sticking with iD7. Everything else is moving forward with iD8.5 or 9.

ID9 is a nightmare. 8.5 is the one we want. It’s a nice step up from 8.

Allocations for MY25 G82 are already out, but no order guides. We should know within the next few weeks officially.

They are switching to Bowers and Wilkins speakers? I can't find any info about it. Do you have a source?
