I think anything that breaks the nostrils is an improvement... Also, depends on whether you need front license plate or not - here in down under we do, and they are pretty massive in most cases.
Any thoughts if the slats could be made vertical? Break the nostril with a body colour piece in the middle (where the plate attaches) and vertical slats on top, possibly a mesh at the bottom? I seem to mainly dislike the horizontal slats, but also think the nostrils are just too big and butt ugly. @BMW it's not a competition who can make the biggest (and ugliest) grill... |

I think this first trial looks quite a bit worse than stock, but I'm glad to see someone experimenting and I hope the final product is something a lot of folks like!

would love to see the grill inserts as a honey combed grill vs the slats.

This is definitely a first. The OE product is so ugly, the brilliant guys at IND have to make something to make this less...uh...distractingly ugly. I commend the effort guys!

The regular 4 series has the worst grille. How about working on that one? Or is it a lost cause?

Will somebody just design a completely new bumper with a regular grill (vertical slats) and restore this monstrosity to the gory it deserves?!

It looks great, excellent effort
It's just those two parking sensors on both sides really kills the flow.. Someone needs to design a work-around to those things.. |

Nah, the grille actually looks good as it comes from the factory. I think all the negative grille talk on the internet is over exaggerated as folks will change their minds when they see that car in person... I certainly did

I think the OEM blacked out grills is still leading the case here in terms of overall flow and styling. Some of the body color painted grills here and photoshops look like the car is wearing a blank euro plate and it just doesn't flow well at all.

It doesn't work IMO. Factory is best.

I'm still on the fence about things. But Kudo's to IND for creating some more options for us & I think they'll eventually crack the code in terms of a version that 75-80% of people will like. And yes, I realize that esthetics are purely subjective.
