Only a part of the carbon package, which you should also be able to get on the "normal" M3 as far as I know of.

Awesome-looking duo! Difficult to choose a favourite between the two

Can the 20's from the rear fit on the fronts or would that be a no no?

Both cars look great! How are you going to decide which to take out?

Per Markus Flasch's initial reveal on September 22, both cars can be optioned with everything and anything. the only thing that can't be changed is the color of the badge.

I kinda like that. I'll be able to spot another 6MT from a mile away (by the silver badge). No more peaking in windows to look for the 6MT shift knob of the 3rd pedal.

So you're saying my first mod shouldn't be to black out the M3 badge?

There's always a better used car... but where else can you get a brand new 6MT and 500hp in a sedan (besides Cadillac )

First thing I did with my "base" M8.

Here, kids will be putting chrome badges on their cars to look cool in no time.

You’re missing the fact that tastes differ, needs differ, and perception of value differs. By the way, why buy a used 911s for $90k when you can buy a Ferrari 360 for cheaper?

Just because you see value in a car that’s several years old and almost out of warranty for $90k does not necessarily mean others would see the same. Some would pay a premium for peace of mind, space, tech, warranty, and/or being the new kid on the block.

Further, how’s BMW’s pricing different from that of AMG’s and Audi’s?

I am going to struggle with Fire Orange on the CF Exterior package NOT to black out the badge, but given it is a clear indicator to all "in the know" that it's a 6MT, I will resist the urge.

By that logic, just get a 2002 Ferrari 360 Modena for $84k...

Or just get a blacked out badge that replaces the "3" in M3 with a "T".

If I believed in vanity plates I would get "6MT G80." It's not YET taken in New York!

Good call. I saw an all black M3 in person today. Looked awesome, modern, and aggressive. Pics definitely don't do the car justice. M5 near it looked pretty dated. Congrats.

The smaller front wheels with more rubber look really good and purposeful in person.

When you combine total grill area the new M3 doesn't really have any more grill than the M5 in the photos. It's just an illusion based on how they are aligned.

It has grown on me as many others and I still haven't seen it in person. Based on the reviews I have read/watched the car drives amazing. Best M3 they have made as far as that goes. And this is most likely the last non hybrid/full electric one. Can't see myself passing on it, will most likely be my last full gas guzzler. Times are changing and nothing we can do about it...

my last non turbo was a 09 C63 and that 6.3L was fun as hell to hear BUT I don't miss the 11 mpg I averaged and I wasn't driving it that hard (just sat in lots of traffic at the time). Thing was out of control with traction and I enjoy driving my X3M more even though it's a I6 turbo. Despite the press cars noted mpg during their "spirited drives" I am getting 17mpg in my x3m as a DD, M3 at 10% less weight and lower drag has to be better.

The one car I do miss and if the prices didn't get out of control I would buy it back was my 2006 M Coupe. Last manual I owned which I had to sell when my son was born as a 2 seat roadster and a wife who tries once and gives up on learning stick doesn't work well together. bought it for $38,000 used, sold for $26,500 (in winter when economy was shit in 2000), now same damn car sells for $40,000 or more depending on mileage.

So just remember as reviewers are saying, what is the M3s real competition now? Mercedes already moved on to hybrid and hasn't had a stick in over a decade, Audi same with transmission and they are always underpowered and overpriced... people keep mentioning Porsche but seriously that's not competition for people looking for a smaller 2-4 door 4 seater. 911 isn't practical. Probably only real completion is internal with M2.

Price difference about $30k used or about $60k new
Functional rear seats
Daily driver comfort
Trunk/storage space
Less prestige (sometimes desired)
