In 1998, when I was going through the agony of waiting for my first ordered M3, my then-wife tried to ease the pain by buying several items for me -- an M3 shirt and some M driving gloves. I have no idea if the dealership parts departments still have something like driving gloves. Here's what they looked liked in 1998... The side that grips the wheel is leather -- perforated on the fingers -- and the back is fabric with leather strips. The BMW roundel and ///M stripes are nice finishing touches. I don't think I've ever worn them; I don't wear gloves to drive.

I think gloves are great.
I like sheepskin or leather with a fur interior, personally. I saw some cool one on Amazon, not sure the quality. BR and RL have nice leather winter gloves which I enjoy driving with, but obviously only use them in winter. I do prefer driving with a glove. I don’t think there is any benefit to it beyond, me liking the tactile feel. I have pretty dry palms and hands but even still after holding the wheel for awhile some perspiration forms and I enjoy a gloved hand. In the summer I don’t wear em as much. I think that a bike glove might be good too. I have never tried it, but I can see myself liking my fox bike gloves while driving. And, I can also see other people laughing at me while wearing them. |

Get actual "high professional" gloves, for example - https://competitionmotorsport.com/co...-racing-gloves
They comfortable and won't have any weird seams or stitches.

I use one for track days just coz my wife gifted Sparco for my birthday couple of years back. Since I have been wearing it for all track days, I sougta like it now.
Below is the link to what I have, not sure whether it's any good compared to whatever are the best out there. https://www.enjukuracing.com/product....html?afmc=4c7 |

When I hear people trying to make fun of "why do you need gloves" comments, it just says how big of noobs they are and don't actually drive their ///M cars hard enough to even realize why you would actually NEED the gloves. 😂😂😂 There's absolutely no way that you could drive hard enough to get adrenaline going for any decent amount of time and not have sweaty hands. I don't give 2 shits that it's bad for the leather either, Alcantara in my case. It makes the steering wheel slippery and that's just dangerous, period. I have a leather pair for "spirited" driving in the glove box and actual racing pair for the track.

My hands don't get sweaty on DD nor spirited drives. The only time I use gloves is for track days cuz all the tracks are in hot ass climates and you need to drive with the window down
. Now if you're wearing gloves to look cool that's a whole other story |

Sparco Tides for track: For winter, I don't have "driving" gloves, I just use my daily gloves that keep my hands warm. HEAD Sensatec gloves provide warmth and grip, and maintains capacitive touch for smartphones etc. It's cheap and it works.

I used driving gloves for my Porsche 911 GTS that came with an Alcantara covered steering wheel because I didn't want to ruin it with sweaty or dirty hands.
