Cost to replace G82 windshield

It was a sad day

Got a huge crack on my windshield and went into ParkAve BMW asking for a replacement, they quoted me $1900 for parts and $1300 for labor, just wondering if this is normal in NJ area? Will there a cheaper alternative in the area?

I went through insurance, I made sure I got OEM it cost me 159$ and a glass guy installed it… boom 💥

That sounds amazing. So did insurance cover the parts and the labor or did you find the glass shop elsewhere? Thanks

I know right !? So what should the normal amount of labor be about? They told me the install plus calibration will be around 6 hours

Mine was a small rock on the highway. Smallllllll!!!! As I continued to drive the crack spread in front of my eyes and across the windshield. Worst one I ever had.

From talking to people, check local windshield guys before going to the dealer. A client with Subaru replaced his windshield for around 500 when the dealer quoted $2k. His subaru has eyesight. Unless the sensors are hit, they aren't in the windshield so it doesn't need to be calibrated (like the dealer suggests). Honestly I haven't paid attention to where the sensors are in the G80. I'd rather not have it!

And like everything else, the dealer is going to add on for going through them.

I was driving with my buddy on Seven Lakes Drive and got hit by the little pebbles on the road

The worst part is it hit right where the rain sensor/connect drive thingy are so I didn't even notice it until I was washing my car, by that time the crack spread across the entire top section
