Non refundable deposit and no allocation

Dealer said I'll definitely have the car by August 2022.

I'm going to the dealer after work today.

What should I know when I leave to insure I will get the car around August 2022?

Or should I keep looking?

They've committed to msrp and my prior F80 was serviced there.

There is literally nothing you can do.

The dealership doesn't control how many allocations they get nor do they control how fast your car will get produced. If they tell you otherwise they are lying.

Thanks!

Crap; that's what I thought.

So they pretty much lock me down with the "refundable" / "Non Refundable" $1,000 deposit.

They have 7 people on a wait list ahead of me too.

Anyway I'll talk with them after work as I randomly try my luck calling BMW dealers near or along east coast.

12 hours in any direction from Connecticut is fine for me to go pick up a car.

Its nearly impossible to take delivery by Aug if there is 7 people ahead of you.

If i were you, i would call around and add your name in several other dealer waitlist who has a shorter one. Good luck with your search.

No way to insure you'll get the car by August. I'd write into the sales contract that you can get your deposit back if you don't get the car by then.

What dealership did you go through? I went through BMW Warwick in RI. I have been 3rd in line for a M4x Comp since the beginning of October.

With all the possible option exclusions going on I stopped giving a shit and if an allocation pops up I'll take it but if it doesn't. I don't care anymore.

BMW Bridgeport Connecticut

I've been calling random in tri-state area as well as Oklahoma and Florida.

I found a dealer with an allocation in New Jersey for an M4 and they had a $5k mark up.

Im going with 6MT M3

You can get your deposit back.

Since you're in Bridgeport area look into PCD and look for allocations nationwide. You're ~13 hours from Greer and the weather will be moving towards spring by the time you get your car

im from CT myself, I initially was going to go through the hartford dealership but I was going to be 7 in line there too. Worked with Lou over in BMW new london and he got me on the wait list (first in line). Got an allocation a few weeks later and its in production. My guess if you tried them you would at least be next in line for an allocation. Tell him Dan sent you

Get a performance center delivery in South Carolina?

Does this expedite an allocation for me?

PCD delivery does not prioritize allocations. In general it adds a couple of weeks or more to your delivery as you have to find an available timeslot in their calendar.

But it brings in the flexibility of ordering it from any dealer in the country. This way you will have a wider search of dealers for available allocations.

Damn , that dealer is a savage.
You won't get the car by August but you will likely get an allocation by August if you have 7 ahead of you.

M3 are much harder to get than M4. Im in Philadelphia SE area and left a deposit a week before Xmas on an M4. I was 4th in line and they predicted late Jan for production slot and car around June. They said an M3 would probably be August at the earliest.

Popped in the dealer NYE to look at colors, told I was now #2, fingers crossed

I would third/fourth PCD. You can buy from anywhere that has an allocation so you can shop for a better price (maybe) and an earlier delivery date.

Maybe try a broker as well. They might know where you can get one through their contacts...but it'll cost you a fee ~$500 +/-

I would definitely keep it moving. There are sometimes certain members on here, that have leads on allocations, at MSRP, that are willing to work with people out of state.
