Yeah, I went to the update screen in the car and asked it to check for updates and "bingo" it confirmed one was available. Then I checked on MyBMW and it was already in process of downloading.

I just checked the upgrade screen and said none available. You're in Asia, so I wonder if the US is on a different schedule. Thought it said 2 weeks over 2 weeks ago.

As far I can say :
The new sound seems as useless as fake and more over can't be removed. Total fail from BMW, a real shame. If they want to lose their time developing stupid things, they should let people decide if they want to hear this ugly thing or not. Shame Do not update until Bimmercode prove they can deactivate using their software |

i installed the update a few days ago... but tbh I'm not noticing the sound is changing much? For those that are noticing a change, under what scenarios do you notice them?
I was assuming you'd get a more pronounced "fart" sound on upshift but that continues to only happen when you are on WOT.

To those who were interested in knowing more about how M Sound Control works after the BMW's OTA update. AutoTopNL released a POV drive video. And to AutoTopNL the valve flaps open up sooner and more linearly with the OTA update. The update also changed the way the exhaust sounds when you let off the throttle. It ends with a base blow though the exhaust. Even with the OPF equipped because AutoTopNL had the pleasure to test drive BMW’s own M4 G82 with an update before the public release. Please note that the exhaust is not stock, but with our full catted system. That's going to impact the sound volume and pops & bangs you're hearing. Thank you. |

Just FYI: I noticed that the update is now available for US cars. The pop up notified me via the MyBMW app. I will post my thoughts after updating, including what coded options needed to be redone ( i.e Anti Dazzle lights)

Thank you, Real, for providing an update on all this once you do the update. I'm purposely holding out.

I just got the update this week. Downloaded it to the app and then you download it to the car. THEN you have to wait until the car tells you it can be installed. Car needs to be parked and can't drive it during the update (which it says takes 20 minutes). I finally got the message this morning (about 3 days after the software download in the app) that it was ready to install. I just did the install, but haven't driven it yet. I will post an update once I get it out on the road.

In addition, I noticed there is now a heated seat distribution menu which I do not recall prior. This is neat as it allows control over bottom and back heating focus. With this update I did loose all my coding including anti-dazzle, disabling screen warnings, B&O audio and so forth. I was able to rather easily enable everything again via Bimmercode, and I learned this time to VO code my anti-dazzle back on using eSys. So in short, I was able to do this update, and reapply all coding back to my prior configuration.

You coded your Anti Dazzle back on using Esys through a laptop, yes? |

For now, I'm good, no update needed. I think I'll wait it out. Don't need more burbles. And I'll have to sacrifice not having control of the heating elements on my tushy. All I'd really like to do at this point is turn off the ASD, so I gotta figure out how to code that out. |

So, I downloaded the update to my phone yesterday but I don't think I've synced it with my car yet. I really have no desire to lose all of my coding, especially since I paid someone to code my antidazzle. Is syncing it with my car an option or is it going to do it no matter what I say?

I’ve been disappointed with the weak exhaust sound of the g80 compared to my prior f80 which was significantly louder. This update unfortunately did nothing noticeable to the exhaust sound.
