Retrofit equipment

Has anyone had any success getting BMW to retrofit their cars with equipment that was promised but not on the actual vehicle? Have a 2023 M4 ordered in August 2022. It came without gesture, control, touchpad, or motion sensor for trunk release because of supply shortages. Those supplies shortages have been relieved, and I believe that it’s appropriate to have that equipment installed/retrofitted.

Any thoughts, or direction.

Gesture Control and motion sensor for the trunk were never options for the G8x.

I don't know about the iDrive controller touchpad though.

Gesture control was available from the start until component shortages started around November 2021. I have it in mine, though I disable it since it’s a PITA.

Motion sensor for the trunk was never available in G8X, and iDrive controller touch is such a dumb, useless feature.

Candidly none of the features I listed are very important to me. My thought, however, is that to the extent they were offered and not installed. BMW needs to make an adjustment and or installation.

As far as their availability On the G8x Platform, I have seen each of these features on various M3/M4 vehicles - just not on mine.

But it could be that there is no retrofit

IIRC BMW made an adjustment at the time as a reduction in MSRP (or a credit on the Monroney label), mine was unaffected, but I recall posts about it.

Thought is that you should have addressed this with your dealer at the time of purchase and had an agreement that you could live with.
