Spark Plugs

Hey guys

If one was wanting to run E25-E40 blends which NGK spark plugs would be best for a 2022 G80CXD? Also, which tool would I need to purchase to change them myself? I heard someone say once that you need a custom tool to change BMW spark plugs, so curious if thats true.

I assume NGK would be the best brand, but if you have a part number that would be great!

Thanks for your time!

No need to change plugs, people are running 9's on ethanol with stock plugs.

I'd think these days, people would STOP making assumptions. Just ask the question.

The OEM BMW plugs happen to be marked NGK SILZKGR8E8S. When I buy from FCP Euro their catalog shows SILZKGR8C8S (NGK-96206) but what delivers is the E8S without a BMW logo. All good. Stock gap from the dealer is 0.025” and for OTS E-mix tunes I use 0.022” gap.

Swivel head spark plug socket similar to this (I haven’t tried this one)

3/8 Torque wrench to hit 25Nm

Silicone tubing, use a 1-foot length as a spark plug threader

I'd think these days people would stop bumping 2 week old posts just to berate the guy. Just keep your thoughts to yourself if you're not actually going to provide any useful info.

This is the correct advice. My tuner who is local to me says stock gap works up to E50 custom tune stock turbos. After that on upgraded turbos on similar E content, it needs to be gapped down to 0.023". Stock gap could also work on upgraded turbos pump. I'm running E40 on full race turbos and the 0.023" gap is working well for me
