I've seen Jay Leno's SLR and I think hardtop has the unique advantage of having the gullwing doors. The convertable isn't that special to me compared to the fastback.

im sure its a hard top vert, so when the top is on its pretty much the same thing as the regular hardtop. the only difference is the vert is havier.

oh ur right no gullwings ruin the effect of the car other than that now that i look at it, its just and elongated slk

saw an slr on saturday at the dealer. i might be a minority here, but i honestly was not that impressed with the looks.

I have seen the SLRs in person (few back in London)- quite amazing cars. Would like to drive it though

this pic is actually a number of years old (same time the coupe was unveiled), but benz decided not to put it into production at that time. Looks like they've changed their minds.
