Has Kit vs Springs

Title might be misleading, but this will be the first car I ever mod and I'm just wondering a few things about lowering it. I'm just wondering what the pros and cons of for example the KW Has kit vs H&R springs and if the price difference is worth it? Any feedback js appreciated! This will be my daily driver, and I only plan on tracking it maybe once or twice. I also know I will need an alignment after as well.

The HAS kit allows the user to adjust the height of the springs.

the regular H&R springs do not

The H&R VTF is similar to the HAS

Here is a video with my M4 on H&R VTF (fast forward to the end of the video to skip the install)

I switched from H&R sport springs to the H&R VTF springs so I can raise and lower based on the season.

If you don't drive in snow then the main benefit of the VTF/HAS kits is their ability to dial in the drop to your liking.

The downside is the additional cost for parts and labour.

How do you like the VTF?

They've been on for about two weeks and so far so good. One thing I've noticed is the front end turn in seems quicker/lighter. Not sure if it's a result of having the front springs max high but it was very surprising when I took my first freeway on ramp at pace.

Did the alignment shop give you 0 or + toe setting?
Quicker turn in would be + toe out.

Appreciate you chiming in!

Haven't done the alignment yet as I wanted the springs to settle. Haven't noticed the sharp turn in so not sure if I've gotten used to it or there was another factor that caused it.

It's really not. Stop trying to create a narrative. I've had MSS HAS on for about 8k miles and have zero issues. Stance is perfect and the ride is very similar to OEM.

I’d like to raise and lower based on season, too, when I swap my winter/summer tires. I’ve read here that adjusting the front for most HAS setups are pretty easy. How much effort is it to adjust the rears and how long does it take to do at home?

Can Help with this as I just take it to my local shop. They charge about a hour of labour to adjust the ride height. After you adjust the springs you should get an alignment done though I'm sure many don't bother.

Thanks! So that probably translate into a 3 hour job for me or $100-$150 at a shop. I may just stay stock and avoid the bi-annual hassle/cost.
