Let's see that front end now! The rear diffuser looks like it is straight out of Toys "R" US.

It's not only possible - I'll go on record saying it's a total lock.

But, you know your history, so you also know they've shed loyalists every single generation. We shouldn't expect things to be any different this time around. Sure, the exact reasons differ from generation to generation, but it all essentially boils down to tailoring products to a specific segment of the population, which inevitably means some of the current customer base ages out of the market.

Who's going to buy these BMW products with big grills you might ask? Well the same folks that buy the Audi, Lexus, Mercedes, Lincoln and other luxury vehicles with big grills. If that's not you, well, then you can congratulate yourself. You are now a member of the older wiser generation who knows everything. Hey, I'm a card carrying member, so I can say that.

The proportions and ratios seem right, there are wide fender flares, even the painted diffuser looks good, and best part it doesn't look like a big car. I say bravo BMW

Hmm.. I didn't think an M3 ass could look much better than this BUTT... (pun intended) even the F80 CS rear end looks a little plain and boring compared to the leaked photo. Considering the shot is pre-production I bet it's going to clean up very well and look sick! The G80 X-Drive Comp is going to be stupid fast and likely the best M3 to date. So relax fellas... most of you aren't going anywhere. Bigger grills are coming. Audi just beat them to the punch. By about 15 years.

I’m no expert in this area but I strongly suspect this is highly functional aero, both the horizontal black plastic winglike floor extensions and the vertical slats in the diffuser working together to generate performance enhancing flows around the rear.

Uhh NO - nobody complained about F80/82 styling or design.
Main issue was sound and move to turbo from N/A.

It is funny that so many people are in panic but apparently forget how a car factory works...
Just look at the timeline when this car with be officially out (late 2020 or even 2021), so I doubt that there are already even pre-prod cars on the lines with final stage parts and so on...other leaks we saw (front, back) where different and close to public reveal...

Just my two cents, but for me this looks as follows:
This is a not at all a finished car that we see here, this is used for testing clearance, setup tooling and so on for the factory lines.
The wheels that are mounted are for sure only there, to be able to move the car (as the widest point are anyway not the wheels.)
Diffusor could be painted to better setup the tools and check clearance as it is more difficult to to check these things on black / carbon and for sure a lot of parts are not completely ready yet or would not be used in production quality to setup various things. Just look at the latest test mule videos, and you see that the exhaust tips are way bigger than here...

So don't panic, just wait and you will buy it anyway

Reached out to someone who told me that G80 is about to do its final round of testing which means cars that are wrapped or semi-wrapped without any restrictive panels you would find on early prototypes Covering Aero packets etc.
So we should see these soon.

The front end reactions will be the G22 Concept all over again.

Lol I kinda agree. And the part that looks dated is the rear bumper "shelf". You know..the one that catches all the road grime and dust. I did not think it looked dated until I saw the test mule. But hey.. don't be macking on my " brand new" 100k F80

Yes the gold illustrates the tastelessness of its owner.

Haha what about the MASSIVE grills - just as bad if not worse.
Gimmick styling is what it is.
