Yeah, as you can see from my sig line below, I've had a few BMWs. There were some other cars as well, German and domestics. Many of those were a yawn, but I still get that little excitement in the pit of my stomach when buying a new M car!

I had a BMW in my garage at that age too, a '76 2002, if I recall.

Congrats!

I just experienced that night before my first M car last month. I was doing PCD, had just had dinner at the Marriott and went back up to my room thinking.... this is what I've waited 17 years for.... how the hell do I sleep now? What an incredible time.... And then the next morning after I finally did fall asleep.... sleep deprivation wasn't going to stop me from feeling even more excited as I pulled apart the hotel curtains to start that day.

Congrats on getting your dream car. I just got my dream car (origninally back in the day it was an Estoril Blue E46 M3 when it first came out, now have a PB M3). The only “advice” I can give you is that this car totally busted two myths for me.

1) Money can’t buy you happiness - yes it can, if you bought an M3.
2) Don’t meet your hero’s - met my hero car and it’s everything and more than I imagined.

Omg I made it 100 miles back to my hometown without stalling but at the last left turn at a huge intersection I stalled in the middle and then I panicked cause the light turned red and the car behind me was honking and then I put it into reverse accidentally cause I went too hard trying to get into first and then finally just dumped the clutch at 3k and made the turn like 5 seconds after it was solid red omg
