Imagine a matte clear coat (frozen) like getting a grease spot on something. No amount of wiping makes that grease spot go away. Matte clear coats work because the coat is “jagged” which disperses light and makes the clear coat appear matte to the human eye, because light is getting dispersed in every which way. A traditional clear coat is a really smooth layer of clear coat so light gets reflected evenly. That’s why if you use any cleaner with a gloss additive on a frozen paint, it’ll appear glossy. You are essentially filling in those jagged edges on the clear coat to make a smooth surface. Matte clear coats and stealth wraps work in two different ways. |

To be honest I’m not sure if xpel is truly better than the rest, or if a lot is just marketing, but it seems to get recommended the most.
