Took it in - SA indicated the clicking is coming from the strut mounts and they’re going to replace them and see if it fixes the issue. We’ll see (and I’ll update whether it fixes the issue)!

Makes sense on lifting, yes the new struts I got have everything needed.

Anyone know if the strut mounts are changed in connection with the HAS kit install? SA is saying the noise I identified is coming from it and then OE mounts they brought in from the warehouse he “hopes” are the right ones.

I hope so too! I want my car back for cars and coffee this weekend!

Dealer replaced the strut mounts and the noise has gone away. An alignment fixed the steering wheel being off center. Happy camper!

I keep seeing people mention that 10mm all around is the recommended drop, but it seems like BMW's installation instructions tell you to set the wheel cap to fender distance to some specific distances after putting some weights in the car.

Where are people getting this 10mm all around figure from?

My car came in yesterday and I take delivery today. I'm in the middle of another project putting a new engine in my old Saleen Mustang.
So I called the dealer to see what they would charge to install the spring kit. I have the parts.

Guy at Roseville BMW just quoted me $3,200.00

My response was, "You did hear I have the parts?".
Him, "Yes".

Yeah, bring them a crack pipe. They have the pricing wrong, for sure. Its only $2,800 to buy them and have them installed at the port.

I had a similar quote from my dealer (before I knew port install was an option thanks for this forum), and have heard of others similar or for more.

The port is cutting the dealership at the knees on their pricing for this option.

My dealer cannot figure out how to add the HAS as a port installed option… my car is in the paint booth, so still have plenty of time. Anyone have any recs on how to add it on?

It’s option code Z58. See if they can find it. I believe it shows as “performance suspension” or something like that.

Or you can do Eibach front springs for $250 and have them installed for $450.

Ditto. Reason for ordering the kit and having to install it myself.

I would really prefer to go that route, especially considering I’m still going to have to take it somewhere to adjust the spring height afterwards, but the peace of mind warranty is what’s pushing me to have the port install it.

You’ll see on the most recent page of that thread that I have been heavily weighing out both options. I’ve gone back and forth several times, but think I am leaning towards having warranty backed suspension given that this will be my daily. The stories of blown struts have deterred me.

Wow, I was quoted $3760 for part+install+alignment from a dealer nearby and I thought this was a lot lol
