M3 LCI Update Details?

Have we heard anything else about LCI update? Last I saw they were estimating Mid-March 2024.

My lease is ending in August 2024 and I plan to order my new m3 sometime in October. If I place an order in October I should expect it to be Pre-LCI update right? Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

Yeah, like kgelfen said, I’d expect a Summer production build.

Given the some of the shortages of options and delays for current production builds along what will likely be mild changes for the LCI, I’m not sure the wait for the LCI will be worth it. Obviously, I could be wrong but not a gamble I’d take *if* you can secure an allocation in October.

The M4’s production cycle is in the spring, M3 is summer. Could be part of the confusion!

Something nobody has mentioned in any of the threads is the possibility of S58tu2 update which *could* come for the LCI or post LCI similar to the newest version of the B58 which introduces port injection. For anyone fuzzy on the timeline, 3 series LCI came for 2023 still using one generation older B58, now for 2024 it's getting the one with port and direct injection.

So pure conjecture on my part, but that would mean 2021-2027 without any engine technical updates which seems like a long run.

Would that explain the suspected 25 hp bump with the lci?

15hp bump is 0.5-1psi more boost, doesn't say anything about if it will get a technical update or not. I figure the future model thread would have detailed this before now but you never know. The B58 news hit only a month or so ago.

Garage List
It could get a mild hybrid. Doesn't necessarily mean more power, but perhaps a bit more torque or to eliminate turbo lag, which would essentially make it a bit faster.

This is wrong.

The M3 LCI that you speak of (with new headlights / hp bump) will be MY25. Will begin production Summer ‘24 (probably 7/2024) but no one knows the exact date.

Sorry yes I made an error with years I fixed my post. You are correct. I meant to say July 2024 (1 year from now)

My 22 M3 lease is us August 24. I just put my name down for the first 2025 allocation hopefully May 2024 with a July 24 build. No issues from the dealer. Just a quick text and done.
