Anybody have Air Collar? As a post-delivery install?

Does anybody use Air Collar in an M4 cvt? I had Air Scarf in my '07 SLK55 and it was one reason I kept that car 11 years (in SoCal).

If I was ordering I would have gone ahead and spent the $650 extra, but I found a dream price on a lot car and am thinking spending another $1-1.5K would be worth it.

Comments? TY

Anybody seen non-OEM aftermarket options?

I have it and have been happy with it when I use it. For it to be effective the removable wind screen and windows need to be up. With that said I can easily cruise around with top down when temp is in 40s Fahrenheit. If you are in a climate that has a good number of cold sunny days and want to enjoy the top down then the collar is worth it.

I bought the wife a Mazda SUV in mid January and myself the '24 M4Cx cvt at the end of the month.

On both we got out the door for under MSRP (~$32K and <$100Krespectively). For perspective here in SoCal license and reg are $$$ and sales tax is 7.75% (over 10% in some places!). Neither was padded w/ unnecessary options (mine has driver's, parking, & executive pkgs, plus laser headlights and interior carbon fiber). Both had added 'dealer options' and BS DSRPs but I said "we do not want no Fargo clear coat" and those disappeared.

Aside from buying during lean times, here are other tips: (1) never 'like' the color or the options they have in stock. (2) start looking at ~2pm and do not talk numbers until 4pm (they will panic to cut a deal while they can still get you to a bank branch to get a cashier's check)(hint: if things are moving too quickly ask about 'allocation' and what is arriving next month, or placing an order -- they hate that). (3) take just over $10K of mfgr's financing and they will discount another $1k (loan origination credit to the dealer), and then pay that off in 3 months (not more, not less).

The neck level heater is one of my favorite features on the G83. I’m actually surprised how much I like it and how often I use it. On a cold day after work I’ll put on the steering wheel heater and the neck warmer. This is my 4th convertible and the first with a neck warmer. It’s now a must have option IMHO.

I'm surprised how much people like it. I have it and find it barely adds anything to my experience. Like mentioned you *need* the windscreen and all windows up, but even then it's not all that super effective at speed. And, at that temperature, I don't find myself being warm enough to keep the top down at the temperatures it'd be effective anyway.

The worst part of it for me is, as a slightly vertically challenged human, the headrest is now a bit too high since the bottom part is taken up by the plastic vent.

If I were ordering again I'd probably not option it.

TY. The SLK55 was a 2-seater and I did not bother with the windscreen. It was really nice driving in the mountains or the desert as the sun went down. I could just turn on Air Scarf and it was still comfortable until the temperature dropped below 64F. I suspect the aerodynamics are different in the bigger M4. I will ask around at a Coffee and Cars event and see if somebody will demo one for me.

That's really the best way to do it. If I were a little taller and I could still effectively use the headrest I don't think I'd care as much, that's the biggest hit for me.
