That’s the BS your dealer told you. If they wouldn’t accommodate you for a $30 set of clips that are supposed to come with the car, I would find a different BMW service center to do business with.

Not always an option in some areas unless you want to drive 50+ miles. My second closest dealer is 60 miles away.

It’s frustrating because they are supposed to come with the car from the dealer. Sometimes they fall of while driving etc. but the dealer should accommodate you for stupid stuff like that. ESPECIALLY if you do your service there!

That's misinformation when I picked up my 24 M4 cx in September it didn't have them. I checked out the calipers and there no marks where they were ever on there. Just ordered them and didn't hassle the dealer.

I get it and I agree with you but for me it’s more a matter of picking my battles. For me 30 bucks was not even worth asking. I have no issues with service at my local dealer but won’t buy from them as they won’t negotiate.

I bought 2 24 m4 comps in the past 4 months and they didn’t have them on, that’s not the point. It’s a decorative piece that clips on which means it was supposed to be there as it clips into place the way it’s supposed to be.

This is the misinformation. BMW has been subtly removing content from the car since launch. This, the “competition” door sills, the “competition” logo on the shifter, and now we find out they have deleted the door pocket ambient lighting and the lighting in the outer vent air flow wheels.

So maybe at one time it was “supposed to be” there, but no longer.

My beef is BMW is removing items/features while simultaneously raising the price. I don’t care what the items or features are. It’s just a bad look but this is the theme across most German automakers at this point.

Your recourse? Work with your dealer depending on your relationship with them. Or take matters into your owns hands and retrofit what you want. It’s really that simple.

Was the vent wheels confirmed?

Maybe the brake clips were removed as they seem to come off creating a hassle for both the owner and BMW. Plus a perceived quality issue. Just for a cosmetic item. Very ‘German’ to just remove them.

I also wonder if the removal of the Competition badging is just marketing. With the announced elimination of the Base M3, all of them will be Competition. So, the new base is Competition and gets regular badging, CS gets special badging and CSL get really special badging.

I wonder if this all depends on the availability at the factory. They aren't going to halt production of the car because they are out of these. It's something the car can be shipped without. That would explain the variability of some people getting them and other's not.

Yet they have no issue finding the $50 phone charging cables that dealers add-on or the $40 first-aid kit. Why can’t they run out of those? 😉

Regardless of what BMW has or hasn't been doing, I mentioned it to my SA and he immediately offered to order me a set of clips for free, I would suggest at least a quick ask.

Also the color matched piping on the floor mats for individual colors.

It's not marketing. It's streamlining the supply chain. One part number/variant vs two or more.
