m4 comp brake pad covers fell off

Some members has mentioned before that their cars did not come with the clip.

Assuming mine didn’t come like this from the dealer, I do have a brake squealing problem but was told that’s normal for brand new brakes. As far as damage to the wheel, none that I see Thank God

If you didn’t get carbon ceramic brakes (you didn’t) then you got standard brakes, and yes they squeal.

My bad didn’t realize they were standard. The squealing will go away though right?

No. Also, read the manual. It talks about the brake noise in it.

And at $20 bucks is this really worth making a thread asking what they should do if BMW won't pay for it?

Who asked what I should do if Bmw doesn’t pay for it? My question is this common for it to come off? Is it off or it comes like that etc. Bmw saying I have to pay for something I got a couple of days ago brand new is the dilemma. It’s the principle, not about a 20 dollar part.

Took delivery of a 23 M3 about a month ago and did not come with the rear caliper M clips. I just ended up purchasing a set online for $50 and slid right on. Completely cosmetic.

Why all the bashing? It doesn't matter if it's a 20 dollar part or 200, or 2000. This is a part that belongs on a car and is supposed to hold, especially if it's part of the brake assembly - cosmetic or not.
On a new car, any decent dealer should replace it immediately, no questions asked. I know my dealer would.

This forum and it’s ability to find ‘problems’ for me to solve 😂 I had no problem at all with the rear brakes until I read this thread, now I’ve had to order two clips…

It’s up there with the M3 comp badge from the centre console that I didn’t miss until I was told about it!

TIL that BMW has been shipping cars without that 'M' plastic clip on rear brakes. No rhyme or reason, some cars have them, and some don't.

Does it though? I have a feeling this is another one of the Shrinkflation differences between the 2022 and 2023+ builds. Huge number of small differences between those models for non-essential items.
