m4 comp brake pad covers fell off

Hi guys. New to the forum. Just got delivery of my m4 comp a couple days ago and my rear brake caliper covers fell off. Is this common? What should I do? The bmw service center said I "might" have to pay for it. Like seriously? wtf?!

Got any pictures? Highly doubt this is not a warranty coverage fix, talk to a manager/your CA.

Agreed. I’m not expert but I’d love to hear the reason why they wouldn’t cover it, assuming a new delivery, no mods, etc.

both of them fell off? that's super weird, i could see one of them maybe but how could both of them fall off within a few days? sounds more like someone stole them.

Don’t let the dealership hoodwink you, I can’t recall ever hearing this happen on a new car before. Share some pics though.

Car hasn't been out of my sight since I got it a couple days ago. My guess is they weren't tightened properly and they came off as I was driving. This is the brake caliper covers, no amount of external force would have them unscrew off.

There is nothing to tighten or screw, they clip in.

Caliper covers? The calipers should be a solid piece with the ///M logo on the side which is actually a sticker.

There is a decorative plastic clip on the rear calipers, it’s the only possible thing he could be talking about.

Our 2022 X3 M40i has them in the rear calibers there’s a little M logo clip.

Ohh!! Super minor. Yea just buy another and clip it in. I thought the whole caliper somehow came off hahah!

Am I not explaining it right? What’s there to doubt? It looks like it has screws to a top piece that came off but someone said they’re clip ons

As shown in the pics there’s holes to it it that look like missing screw places I dunno
