For those who have installed them, can you see light coming from the projectors from inside the car when the car door is closed? I had the "welcome carpet" lights in my previous X3 M40i but don't remember light from the inside when the door was closed.
See at 4:31 in the following video:

I’m interested in having this installed in my G82 when it arrives.

Question- what is the standard projector light the car comes with? Some sort of logo seems to be the expectation these days on prestige cars. Does anyone have a photo of their standard door projector light?

It's a clear bulb, no logo.
Similar to what a dome light looks like.

I was able to pop out the existing light using a flat head screw driver as instructed. Very easy.

That's when I stopped.

I couldn't get the connection undone without feeling like I was going to break it.
I had the same experience. I'd rather not break something on my 89k car to swap a light bulb. I gave up and put the OEM light back in.

Anyone else feel like these are a bit dim? Definitely dimmer than a few previous Audi puddle lights I’ve owned. Only seems to look “great” in very dark scenerios to my eyes.

Had the exact same feeling! Our Q7 puddle light rings are crisp and bright. Not so with the BMW version. Disappointed

Worst case scenarios, have the dealer install them. I’m sure they’re not going to charge an arm and a leg.

Yeah, that's too much. They're going to have to tone that down a little.

It's an easy install. I am a DIYer on most mods, but seriously, this is something that can be done in under 10mins total by anyone even withoutany experience.

To be honest, I may have dealer just do it next week when I take it in to have my MP steering wheel put in. How much time could they possibly bill for putting those in? Lol. Even if they just remove them for me. I'll put them in.
Iv just had the projector lights put on my 520d msport G30.
The projection light and 4 slides (2 for each front door) cost £80 from bmw. And bmw charged £64 for installing them. They do look really neat though. And brighten up the whole floor when did is opened. Total £144 paid. And it took them the whole of 5 mins to install.
You get 2 round bmw emblem sign slides, and 2 msport logo slides.

Any tips? I hate when something so seemingly simplistic doesn't work and is so damn hard.
Hi sorry to resurrect the old topic but can you or anyone tell me how to disconnect wire from the oem module. I can't get them separated. All videos I watch, it disconnects with no effort one small pull. It is a 2024 g82 not that it would make any difference I don't think. Do I have to pull really hard or is there a trick to this. One simple install becomes a major headache.

thanks

Pretty sure I remember just pulling really hard. You can put some pressure on the small clips that protrude from the connector that "hold" it in, but I don't remember it being super easy either. Just pull.

Still no luck. I mean my fingers are hurting at this point from yanking this thing. I tried both Passenger and driver side. Same result. Here is the image of the connector. On all videos I watched connector is black on the car. On mine it is white. Not sure why. Bought the car brand new. I can't imagine any modification being done.

Push that little tab in on the main body of the projector with a tiny jewlers screwdriver. They will pull out without pushing that tab but pushing it makes the connector slide right out. The hard part is getting the logo lined up correctly.

BTW, you need the 50mm projectors not the 68mm that are more common.

Then end result was worth the effort (looks great on snow or our epoxy garage floor) ...
Would anyone happen to have a reflection of the M badge when the doors open?
