Swap Calipers?

I know this might be a reach but thought I’d try anyways. The one item on any car that is a dealbreaker for me is mismatched calipers. I ‘settled’ with my 2022 M3 when it came to the red calipers. Why on earth someone would pair red calipers on a black car with an orange and black interior is beyond me but it might be the only thing that keeps me from loving it. Seriously, I really enjoy the car!

So…since my search for a local shop that can paint calipers (confidently) has come up short, I’m wondering if anyone on this forum has any interest in swapping for my reds their set of blacks.

I know it’s a long shot but thought I’d give it a go anyhow.

What part of Texas are you located in? Any decent shop can powder coat your calipers.

North of Houston, Montgomery county.

Called around and those that do powdercoating, don’t give me the warm and fuzzies that they could do a decent enough job to match near OEM quality. Also, some just use high-temp paint which I’m not interested in.

Oh, okay, got you. I would imagine there would be some good car shops in Houston. There is a shop here in Dallas that does a phenomenal job. It matches OEM quality.

For the same reason I hired a pool builder. I can do a lot myself but I want to avoid it looking like some dude just took spray paint to them.

I think next I’ll check with some indy shops around here and see if they have a line on someone.

I would contact IND-Distribution

I remember last year they refinished a set of calipers in fashion gray. The job looked incredible, OEM, as you’d expect.

I’ve been contemplating sending mine to them for a custom finish.

I will vouch for ind having flawless paintwork. Perfect match and finish on every piece I've had them do. I am extremely picky with paint but would not hesitate to send them calipers if you are considering that.

^^That looks fantastic.

Another option, less permanent if you are concerned how it may come out, some people just get them wrapped. They even make higher temp wrap to withstand the heat. I looks pretty good. And you can easily revert back if you ever sell the car. And best part no overspray or disassembly required.

You just need a reputable shop.

Had to go back and look at my pending order, but it looks like the carpet will match the drapes.

I appreciate the feedback! I thought about wrapping as well...might look into that. As for the red calipers on black exterior, it works for me so long as there's a theme going on. I had red calipers on my black GT350R but it was black on black w/ red accents on the Recaros and on the edges of the center stripe. It worked. I had red calipers on my Rosso 4C with black interior and it worked well. This one, I can't seem to accept.

Are you tinting the windows?

How often are you going to have the doors open while stepping back and looking at the calipers?

You might see a contrast in pics when shooting a front angle shot, but in real life you are never going to see these colors toghether.

IMHO, this is a non-issue, and red on black looks great!

CCBs with red interior here.
