2024 G80 Dealership has one more allocation

Any reason I should pull the trigger, or just wait for 2025? Salesman told me 2025 M3 banks open in Aprill, not sure if true…

I plan on grabbing the non-xDrive Comp so the HP is not a factor.

Resale value on the xDrive more than makes up for the added cost, plus, by the time you get it, MY2025 will be available, further impacting depreciation. If you plan on keeping it 5-6+ years, no biggie, but less than that will definitely impact you.

But if you’re set on RWD, and that doesn’t bother you, go for it. As for order banks opening in April, I think June is the real answer (July will be the MY changeover), but I don’t know for absolutely certain.

I think it's been mentioned that the M3 switches to LCI/2025 in June, and May allocations were just released, so June allocations releasing sometime in April sounds about right.

IMO the 2024 will keep the better looking laser lights and the price will probably go up a couple thousand from where they are now, so I personally would get one in now, but 2025 will be getting iD8.5 (M Version), so really up to you.

I like the laser lights - but the galvanized buttons are cool. Unless the new chipset in the ID 8.5 affects possible future offerings from the Connected Drive Store the slight change in UI and response is not earth shattering. There will be a price increase which will help with depreciation gap - if any. Seemingly the pandemic is still positively (seller) or negatively (buyer) affecting the M3 used car market - based on used M3 asking prices vs residual value. It seems the price increase from 2022 to now (3 I think) has helped with depreciation.

But What the hell do I know - absolutely nothing - just spent too much time trying to figure out what to buy and Value for Money in the M3 segment. Picking up the new 2024 G80 BG Xdrive tomorrow!

If you like the facelift wait. If not get a 24.

Some of us have been going through retrofitting galvanic controls on our pre-LCI models, to much success.

Looks fantastic. I am not a DIY guy how long would it take if one knew what they were doing? I would pay if the numbers crunched - a couple hours labor would be OK - not much more than that though.

I'm sure you could find a couple shops in your area that'd do it for a couple hours of labor, but it's really not something that's super difficult. I'd try it yourself, really. Once you start doing stuff, the willingness to do other stuff is a lot higher.

I've been lurking over there. I'm definitely going to do it, but since I'm there, I'll probably combine it with some sort of PnP speaker upgrades... might as well.

Take any allocation you can get. G80 M3 list at local Dallas dealership is 45 people long. 😞

I got the only allocation for May at my dealer here in Az. No waiting list either for 24. There is a list for 25. But I wanted 24 for lights, switches & pricing.

I say do it. The new DRLs don’t resemble anything close to BMW angel eyes (I think it looks cross eyed), and no laser lights.

Since you are in the City plan on writing a check for it or financing...the crazy additional City tax on leasing will add $100 or so to your monthly.

Financing. Leasing unfortunately doesn’t work out for me. Yea taxes 🤢
Assuming you live in the city too? Do you have a G8X as yet or are you ordering? Which dealership do you plan on going with?

Motorwerks list doesn't tend to be very long because they are high volume and have a non-refundable deposit. I put my deposit down 10/22/22 (#5 on the list) and got my allocation 3.5 months later 2/4/23. Should be even shorter now.

I used to live in the City but out in SoCal now...I had an F80 manual M3 that I sadly sold...and went to a 992 C2S which I didn't like...have a manual MK8 GTI now and love it!

Mike Alder at Bill Jacobs is the best!

Used to have a GTI too! One hell of a fun car. I’ll try and connect with Mike when I get to place the order and see how long I have to wait. I was thinking about going the Porsche route too. I need back seats. Maybe when the kids I order.

Mike Alder sure is a great guy! Buy with confidence, no BS.

I did get a 992T and love it immensely. I ordered with back seats.

Mike

Ended up placing the order with another dealership. M3 stick shift in Java Green with black interior. Didn’t go with the buckets as I don’t fit in them.
