I took the picture of the 827M's on the Lime Green M3CS at Daytona. I can tell you they definitely had more of a gold look in person than comes through on the picture. In the shade they looked more silvery, and in the sunlight looked more gold if that helps.

And if you can believe it the paint popped a lot more in person - kind of opposing effects

Thanks. I think it does change a lot with the lighting. I was going for the 1000M shade and figured the M3 CS wheel was similar shade. But havent seen any in real life. Just in pics

I think thats how the Roman Bronze is. More silver in shade and gold outside. Too bad I couldnt take it outside as its been raining and cloudy the past 2 days. Will try and take a pic when its sunny this wknd

I’ve never seen wheels powder coated that were masked off. They have to be put in the oven to flash, once they’re powdered. 350°-400° for 15-20 minutes. No way the tires can handle that. Unless they’re heat cycling the tires for you.

Lol. They were supposed to take pics when the wheel was being done but got too busy and didnt take pics. They mounted my tires but forgot the ceramic coating. So this was after they applied ceramic. Kept the yellow tape for color contrast

Oh god no. I think I wouldn't have tires then, just a glob of rubber sticking to the wheels

Guys,

My 827m Gold Bronze are there, just saw them before Cup2 tyres go on them (later today or tomorrow).

Definitely a mix of Gold and Bronze, much lighter than the official pictures we saw of the M3 CS.

I think it's very close to the 1000m color if not the same. I guess I will have to see them in the sun to see more Gold, like on @Limegrntaln pics

One thing I’ve learned throughout all of this, BMW really enhances the gold/bronze in any press photos they release. The wheels are almost never close to that color you see them post on FB, Insta, etc.

So true ! I just checked again the press pics, looks like their rims are made of pure Gold

It is a little under whelming at first, but in the end it is still a great color and does shift a lot depending upon the lighting. Just wish they weren’t misrepresenting them so much in their press material.

Btw, the wheels look great! Looking forward to seeing them mounted up.

Yes I am already in love with them !

If the sun is with us at Paul Ricard F1 track the 11th of march, I will put the set on the car the 9th or 10th and try to make a photoshoot while the wheels are clean

Perhaps I will change one day and use the OEM rims with Cup 2 and the CS ones with PS4S for normal use (I also have the Edelweiss LT3 with PS4S). So I can enjoy the CS look a bit more than only on track

This means I will need a 4th set for winter tyres.

Yeah looks more silverish than the 1000M but could be the lighting too. I think they prob used the same powder as the 1000M. But looks great though !!!

Since the release of the M3 CS, I loved the Frozen/Satin bronze color and wondering if I can pull it off. Went with the Prismatic Powders powder coating -Roman Bronze which seem close to the BMW color. It was $150/wheel and did ceramic coating for $30/wheel and my cost per wheel was still lower than the 827M Frozen Bronze by about $150-200/wheel. So I would say its worth it and I cant wait for summer to put these on !!! I would like to thank Limegrntaln and chicagofan00 for their inspiration on the 1000M Gold Bronze wheels.
I’m not a gold wheel kind of guy but that’s very mild and tasteful. Great choice!

Great shade of bronze, perfectly subtle, but you want to hide the front 19s in a darker colour imo

I’ve been enjoying these threads of painting the oe wheels to get ideas for my mint g80 order, but I think black works best until I get a set of gold 1000m’s
