Hi, can anybody tell me if this process is also applicable to the UK or only to North America? Thanks

This thread is super helpful and I wish I would have found it earlier. I put down a deposit with the dealer closest to me because I was told they had an allocation ready, but what they had was a waitlist. Once I wised up I called about 10 more dealers and found one with an allocation for the car I wanted and now have a production number! Still trying to see what the build week is though. Status is 112.

Anybody have any ideas which build week this would be? I'm guessing either week 40 or 43.

I'm still confused by the process. Where did you find this screen?

This was a screenshot the sales guy sent me to prove he had a real allocation and not a waitlist (after waiting 4 weeks on a waitlist where I was told I had an allocation I was quite skeptical haha).

CW43 in confirmed production section. They should also update the priority code as 1 (customer sold).

Ok cool, so tentatively it should be finished in week 43?

Yeah this screenshot was before I actually placed my order and was sent to assure me they had "real allocations" haha. I feel bad for the guy, I was really skeptical at first cuz so many dealerships tried giving me the "of course we have allocations" and after further discussion they just have a waitlist.

So I assume he has marked it as customer sold priority one now.

With a change, it may or may not be pushed to a later date. Its anybodys guess.

In this day and age, you can be delayed even without making any changes.

M4 CS doesnt exist for this generation.

It's either M4 CSL or M3 CS which will be revealed in the coming months.

Is is possible to get price locked in while waiting for an allocation? Or would you need to negotiate at that time?

You cannot lock the price while waiting for an allocation.

You can only negotiate the deal having MSRP as a baseline which can change while you are waiting for an allocation.

Gotcha. I am able to see that I have a priority code 1 order placed, but no production number. This I assume is the wait list. Once the dealer calls stating they have an allocation, this is the time to request an invoice to lock in the price?

If you dont have a production number with status 47, you are on dealer waitlist and you will get the MSRP information once you have an allocation. In the past, BMW has increased MSRP for vehicles produced after a certain date so i would say your pricing is locked once your vehicle is manufactured.

Awesome write up! One question on price, dealers here in Michigan all tell only thing available to order will be a 2024. They don't know options or pricing for 2024. They all assume options and colors will be the same as the 2023's, but no information on pricing. My local dealer in Grand Rapids will sell the car at sticker. I don't think anyone will agree to sell a new M3 here for under sticker.

Since MY23 M3 production is ending in June, its highly unlikely that your dealer might get an allocation for current MY in the coming weeks. Hopefully we will see the order and pricing guide for MY24 M3 with the details soon.

Here is a link to the latest allocation update thread for May builds - https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2003560.
