How the hell did you get someone to offer you $91k for your G80?! That's insane, it already had decent miles on it didn't it? If I could make my money back on my G80 I would be tempted to pick up an AWD variant. Stick vs AWD is a dilemma though

Vic,
When I went from F13 M6 to F82 M4 , I felt a big lack of power/torque/acceleration/luxurious even though M4 was more agile and fun to drive especially because of stunning Manual tranny. Switching to F92 M8 smiles came back to my face. How do you compare your F93 to G80 in term of power/torque/acceleration/cockpit (and I believe your G80 is in full leather the same as F93)?
It's obvious your M3 is much lighter ( ~500 lb?) and smaller (~12"?) than M8 Gran coupe and of course more agile but basically how S63 performs over S58?

I have only sat in buckets but never driven in them or tried them out for a long drive- so I dont miss what I dont know. Either seat set up would be fine for me if I base the M buckets like the ones I had on my 2018 E63S.

A good view of the drop with the spacer in the rear:

I cant get over this color. its gorgeous

Beautiful color. Looks Like candy apple red.

Looks great with black skirts. Seeing this color makes me wish I had some contrast on my BSM.

I went from a F80 Comp to a F92 Comp, and while I love the luxury/performance/tech, I'm thinking ordering a G82. I know it won't be AS quick, but from what I'm seeing, they're not far off. And I think I'll miss a few things from the M8, but a lot of the stuff is in the G82.

tasteful setup.. lowering the front completes the look of the vehicle. Is your car ceramic coated? CLS with exo4?
Are you referring to when I get out of my car?

LOL thanks man- its an interesting color that has so many light swings. Its getting coated this week--- paint is pretty good though already based on my eyeball check.

Part of your loss in feel was due to the transmission--- you had a manual in the F82 but clearly the S58, for me having owned an F82, is the faster stock car. Its not as fast or quick as my F90 or F93 stock vs stock because of the tq and hp plus power to weight ratios. But the car drives faster and this is a hard thing to articulate but I just feel more connected in the G80 chassis with its grip and faster revving engine. You add in the way it runs thru the turns and bends and its every bit as good a driver as the F93 (widest BMW and long as hell at 206 inches). Do I want to line up against one, no- but with the AWD the car will be formidable and then as the speeds increase the F93 will pull.

Its really what floats your boat as some want luxury and are willing to just enjoy a better GT car in the F90/93 but I like to drive so my daily choices are based on needs. Right now its the G80 more than the F93. Steering, Feel of the chassis, engine aggression, handling, and an actually decent upgraded cabin over the F8X is big.

Its simple market issues with supply and demand logic. Of course I have sold many cars to this buyer (wholesaler) so they know my cars are pristine and have super low miles and no defects of any kind.

Ill post the latest auction sales at Manheim; its crazy with the inventory shortages.

These are the latest auction not retail sales on M3 G80 Comps- I cant determine the specs from here but they are not all super high msrps. Its what the market will bear so I took advantage plus getting the Adventurin at sticker made it all so much better.

Well not sure if you gain anything from F92 to G82 since G82 is almost as big as F92. Just 2.7 inches shorter. I felt that agility in F82 and then F80 compare to F13 since theyvwere over 7 inches shorter while F13 was even around 2 inches wider but G82 vs F92?
Maybe its time to a long time test drive

Your typical reply LOL just using Google number (I joke but you do this alot)--- without tangible experience.... who cares about length except form the waist down LOLLOLOLOL.

This car comes in about 400 lbs light from general scale weights posted here vs the F90 (rwd one). Its just an easier car drive and the steering is much better than the M8 (I would know).

Drive the car, its drives much lighter than it is vs the fatty you got or the even fatter car I have. Its not even close and Im on my 2nd G80.

BMW did a great job with the chassis and the valving of the dampers; its just back to old school. Im not a review lover but almost every single review comes back as what myself and other owners here are experiencing. Just test drive it properly and not in the basic modes.

Haha maybe because Im engineer and my brain works based on the numbers
Agree F93 and even F90 are big boats compare to G80 but I was comparing F92 with G82!
As I said time to test drive!

So as an engineer you know there are far more variables than just proportion... and even weight when it comes to cars.

Drive it and be honest when you come back if you do come back

I agree the G82 is not much smaller/narrower/shorter or lighter, but I feel like the F92 feels like a big, heavy cruiser. I need to go to the local dealer so I can see if they have one to drive.

Dont be defensive… we talk all the time and I always respect your advices and experiences. Before getting M8 I asked you to give me some hints the same as other cars and appreciated as usual. And you know cars are just toys for us nothing more and can be replaced any time!
Here I was just wondering how it feels and then quoted on other member since he quoted on my post thats it. My question was not to put down your gorgeous car at all…
Again congrats on your car and I will try to not quote on your posts again ✋

Sir you do realize there is no tone in text so what you inferred was different than what I thought and typed. You asked what I thought so I replied based on owning the cars.

I tried to add smileys and emojis but that didnt work

Thanks for the compliments and yes we have had history - all good, so nothing else should be taken from this here but just that.

With how far cars have come discussions about speed or road grip are almost esoteric. How long can you really hold any of these car WOT on the street? Maybe 5-6 seconds from a light and probably 3-4 seconds from a roll. In the last few years feel has become way more important to me than a .2 second differential 0-60.

The G80 feels much more nimble and connected than the F90 I had previously. It is also way less connected than my Civic TypeR. In a canyon all three are fairly equal in raw speed more because of safety than ability. Get what makes you excited to look at/drive and have fun!

Very nice!

In my humble opinion, the 15mm spacer in the back is a tad aggressive. A 10mm would keep it from poking and be more in line with the look of the front fitment.

Other than that, I'd tint it and call it done.

Beautiful car! I love this color accented with black bits! Also love that ride height, I think it's just perfect!
