M Performance Exhaust?

Hi!

Has anyone got experience with getting the M Performance exhaust installed by the dealer?

I'm worried whether they'll be able to do the bumper cut out or they'll need to send it to a body shop?

Just wanted to get some feedback from others who've had it done.

Mine was installed at the dealership. They did a great job. I dont think it’s all that difficult.

Do you remember how much you paid? Did they cut the bumper at the dealership to install the center pipes?

They quoted me 2k for exhaust and front lip install at the dealership.

That doesn’t sound bad to me to be honest.

I bought the car with the MPE and all the MPerformance carbon fiber on the car so I don’t know the installation cost.

They probably don't ever install them, though. Its pretty rare for someone to buy them after they take delivery of the car. GetBMWParts, a forum sponsor, has them on sale for $6,395. Problem is, tax and shipping is like another $800.

Yup. This is the root of my worry. The instructions are pretty detailed in what bmw provides sooo. Here’s hoping.

There are dimples in the exhaust where the pipes need to be cut. They shouldn’t screw that up.

Your confidence is greater than mine brother! Do you work in an independent shop or for a dealer?

No, not even close. I just pay attention to how things are done, or need to be done. Just for my own sake.

IMO you're much better off spending your money elsewhere. It's nearly $8k for barely any extra sound. Get a midpipe swap instead and you won't need a new muffler/diffuser.

I just cant get over the look of it. It really does not flow with the back end. I think the quad exhaust makes the back end look so much better than the M Performance.

OP. The bumper doesn't need to be cut. The kit should come with a new lower diffuser piece and it's all bolt on so you can keep the original parts.

The bumper does need to be cut. The kit comes with a new rear diffuser but you need to cut the bumper to allow for the center exit exhaust
