In 25 years who knows if ICE cars will even be legal in the states. If bmw doesn't want to give us this, there are other wagons. My plan is xf sportbrake within the next month or 2, then rs6 and finally the e-tron avant when that comes out. By the time I can buy this, I'll literally have no desire to. And I suspect that will be the case with many many more people clamoring for this car.

I had a deposit down for one of these in Australia. Passed it up when I drove a G21 and didn't take to its look. I thought the F 3 series wagon looked better. Having now seen it in after release, I prefer the G80 sedan look to this in the end.

What color should I get it in? I'm a bit tired of black, leaning towards silver or gray for this one.

Will pass. That dash screen is hideous!

If I had only one choice, I would rather have European Delivery reinstated for US over this wagon! Just me.

Get used to it. Even Porsche is going to this format. Even eliminating their beloved physical center tach.

They didn't bring the G21 over, so to bring the G81 over BMW M would have to homologate the whole car for the US market by themselves, which is probably far too expensive for a relatively low-volume seller.

The E63S Wagon and the RS6 both have "normal" variants (the E400/450 wagon and the A6 Allroad) to help share homologation costs with.

There's a 340i wagon in Canada

Sometimes I wonder if those of us who grew up in the 70's and 80's are slightly less enthusiastic about wagons as those who grew up a bit later. Wagons were the minivans and CUV's of my youth, so it's hard not to see them all as the Family Truckster. All they're missing is wood paneling. I hear "Holiday Road" playing in my head every time I watch a review of one.

I'd certainly rather have it than an SUV, though.

I have had - and own - several BMWs with a couple of M cars. I did buy a X5M at one point and it was fun for some time but in all reality, it is not even close to being a good M car. It is amazing for a SUV, but this M3 Touring makes total sense to me over M SUVs. I would buy it, and drive it like I stole it here in the US. It makes me reconsider to go after the RS6 once there is no more ADM. It would be my first Audi in my life….and one less BMW!

I think BMW nowadays have no problem with built qualities, I have had F31 and now G21 M340i as daily, never got a single problem with pano-roofs.
I get it that they not making the spec for carbon roof for G81 that's fine but a sun roof for me should be a must option for a station wagon.

In the US…. Where it won't be sold. Estate car in the Uk. Many different terms for it. Personally I am shocked Jeep put out something with WAGONEER plastered across the back. Touring is a softer landing for sure!
