They didn't bring the G21 over, so to bring the G81 over BMW M would have to homologate the whole car for the US market by themselves, which is probably far too expensive for a relatively low-volume seller.

The E63S Wagon and the RS6 both have "normal" variants (the E400/450 wagon and the A6 Allroad) to help share homologation costs with.

It's pretty simple… the x3m is built here. It's more cost effective for bmw to make those and sell to the US since the US hates wagons.

I hope that roof isn't the same paint they use for the Shadowline trim, way too soft for a panel that large. Sadly won't get to see one in the flesh any time soon; looks really good though.
