What did you do with your factory exhaust take off?

I had the MPE installed before I took delivery of my G80. Now I have the factory exhaust sitting in my garage taking up space I don't have. What did you do with yours?

I do have the rear carbon diffuser for sale, but I don't think the actual exhaust is worth anything much. Whatever I get from the scrap yard I think I would pay in gas.

My midpipe is sitting in my basement. Not really worth selling.. as I don't want to trade / sell my car with valuable aftermarket parts.

Keep it, giving it to the scrap yard is insane.

Definitely hold onto it. Not worth much at all…. BUT, if you ever want to sell your MPE setup down the road, you have that ability, to throw the OE muffler back on.

Main reason why I'm still holding onto my OE mid pipe and muffler. If I were to sell or trade my G80, I'd be selling my MPE without a doubt.

Perhaps you can put it up on a rack and get it off the floor at least.... if that's even possible

If I ever sell my car. I think I would sell it the way it is. But that's not going to be for like 15 years

We all say that

As much as the OEM take-off exhaust is a physically huge PITA to have around, I'd hold onto it in case you want to go back to stock (and get some cents on the dollar selling the upgrade parts). You never know... (said by someone who has been getting yelled at daily at home for the past week, for having the OEM take-off exhaust cluttering things )

I got the Remus Race cat back exhaust and just let the shop that installed it dispose (or even keep?) of the stock exhaust. I would have had to have them cut it up in order to fit it in the M3 to take home and I also had zero interest in having it sit in my garage as well.

🤷🏻

Stored in my garage. When I sell the car, I'll be returning the car to stock and selling the parts separetly.

I’m thinking of cutting at the dimples myself, just to make storage easier. I was able to get it home intact, but it was so long that I had to rest one end on the top of my long bed tailgate and use ratchet straps to keep it secure. You know something’s unwieldy when even diagonally, it’s too long for an 8 foot bed! And of course finding someplace out of the way for an 11 foot long exhaust, is impossible.

If you don't want to keep it, someone will buy it off e-bay/CL/BMWCCA posting when they hit something to damage their OEM exhaust. Might take a while, but by all means do not trash it/give it away.

The sad part is, buying a new OEM exhaust from a dealer is probably more expensive than many of the high-end aftermarket upgrade options

If you get rid of it, make sure you get a good amount of $ if the secondary cats are on it
