Tracking MY22 orders flipping to MY23
I figured I'd make a thread on this for all of us who are waiting at 105 status that we can communicate when our builds flip to MY23. If that actually happens automatically or if we're forced to place new orders will be seen soon and we can report back here for everyone.
I've only seen a couple people say this occurred for them outside the USA. No one in North America has said this has occurred yet, and yet people are able to place new orders for MY23 and get production numbers and scheduled dates. So let's track it and see what happens, what our CA's say, etc, in one place. I have an email out to my CA this morning asking what the procedure is as the last 2 weeks of June in 2022 MY are not likely to come to fruition of having my car move to 150 and be built.

Not sure how to subscribe to this thread without posting, but I'm in this situation. Original build week 5. Planning to call my CA this afternoon and see what he says.

Following! I had build week 17-21 then back to 105 since April. CA told me I’m pushed to MY23 and need to wait for a new allocation. Last week they told me it should happen really soon. No update since.

Update! CA rolled over my '22 allocation to '23 end of June. He called me July 16 and said my M3C is in production. Checked My Garage...and there it is...production number AND VIN. As of 7/20 I'm 151 and in the paint booth. Asked my CA what magic he did and said they pushed my allocation. Whatever that means, but I'll take it. Should have the lady here (barring shipping/custom delays) by end of August/early September. Only difference...a price increase of $4200! Update 2! Looks like I've moved to 190 from last post. On its way to port awaiting shipment. It seems the factory is getting back on track once you have a firm production number and supply chain seems to have improved. Talked to my CA a couple days ago about flipping my 105 status '22 to '23. He covered the changes to the options, iDrive 8 and all that, confirmed I still wanted everything and said I should keep the same prod # but it also sounded like he'd have to resubmit the order? I was careful confirm my place in the 'queue' though, he confirmed I should be one of the first '23s...
Deposit down in Aug 21, Allocation Jan 22, 105 status in Feb, Sched for prod in Mar 22, back to 105 in Apr 22, been in 105 since Apr. I'm hopeful to know more in the next 2-3 weeks. |

Same here. I was told on 6/15 by my CA that I would be getting flipped to MY23, but no further action or info at this time. I'm still showing at 105 with a MY22. Hoping for a miracle, as I REALLY don't want iD8!

I'm in this situation as well. Week 5 —> 16. 105 status since early April.
CA said I would get a new production number and have to wait for an allocation (which doesn't make sense to me unless I'm misunderstanding the process). I submitted a new order 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything since. He said their market manager is aware of my situation and I'll be one of the first '23 builds. I'm very skeptical. |

There doesn't seem to be a clear answer because some people are saying their CA's are saying they need a new production number and some are saying the production number flips into a MY23. All my CA said was that there is no action required from my end

The CAs on this forum also say the 105 status will just be transferred to a 23 build. Wouldn't make sense to me you would have to wait for another allocation when BMW already accepted the order

My CA came back and said from what he knows my allocation will most likely be flipping to a MY23, but he should know more in a few weeks when they get their august allocations and once he gets the info we will update the build for 23 option specs.
So that's pretty unspecific in terms of whether this production number remains in the system and flips or a new one is needed. Perhaps they will update when allocations for MY23 are made available to dealers more.

So, I can confirm that those in status 105 with a MY22 were automatically swapped for a 2023. I had a 2022 production number that just became 2023 on it's own and shows as scheduled for production.
