I see you got your order placed, congrats! Care to reveal your source now?? What color did you choose?

I actually called BMW Norwood and they said only 3 people on waiting list for g80x MY23 and they also get "1 to 2 allocations per month" but who knows what the means. Sales manager estimated end of the year or early next to get a car. They want $5k ADM though... Not sure I'm willing to do that to expedite timeline over Sudbury.

Thanks!

Until I get an actual allocation/production number, my lips are sealed!

I ended up going with Skyscraper Grey because I didn't like the baby blue hue of Brooklyn Grey in the sun, and I'm just not a fan of the gold flake in Dravit.

The rest of my build was:

Fiona Red/Black Extended leather (I don't think the full leather is worth the extra $2,500)
Parking Assistance pkg. w/drive recorder
Executive pkg.
826M bi-color wheels
Red brake calipers (to match the Fiona red interior)
M Shadowline lights
50th year emblems (why not, right? They are free, and I can always swap them out later if I don't like them)
Ventilated seats (don't get me started on why I didn't get the carbon buckets....this was my toughest decision, but I am at peace now with the standard Sport seats)
Carbon fiber int. trim
Laserlights
Wireless phone charger (only $200....why not)
Carbon fiber ext. pkg.

Realizing the MY23 allocations have not dropped yet - has anyone who has been been bumped from MY22 to MY23 had any discussions with their dealer about BMW honoring 2022 pricing? I placed my order in January - still waiting for my allocation.

Thats not going to happen. Order in dealer bank means nothing to the dealer or BMW.

Everyone is going to pay MY23 pricing.

I stopped by last Saturday and asked this question. They said they would "try to work with me on the price difference" since I've been waiting since October. Nothing in writing, so I'm not holding my breath but it was nice they seemed understanding. I've had an allocation since January for a week 9 build, not sure if that makes a difference.

I haven't brought it up yet. I have been waiting until I officially get bumped to '23. Keep us informed.

BTW I would hope that they would schedule those of us who have had a production number for months before passing out new allocations, but I don't have a lot of faith that will happen.

I guess we will all know more pretty soon.

Not certain that is true. I think some dealers will make some concessions to their customers who have had production numbers for MY22 cars for months. We will see.

There is a big difference between "order in dealer bank" (means "on the waiting list") and a MY22 pricing build sheet signed by customer and dealer.

I talked to my CA about BMW honoring '22 pricing, and, in their words.

"Not a chance."

OP didn't have a real allocation and my comment was directed towards that scenario.

If someone had a MY22 allocation with the build date which got pushed to MY23 , that's a whole different story.

What do you mean by difference between the two? What does MY 22 build and price sheet signed by customer and dealer offer? Doesn't that mean nothing if the MY changes?

My dealer said they are working with the market manager(?) to get me '22 pricing since I was bumped and my original build week was 5. I'm not holding my breathe but hopefully he comes through.

Seems like BMW has yet again dropped the ball on those of us waiting for allocations.

In the first case, you have requested a car. Nothing more.

In the second case, you have agreed to buy a car, the dealer has provided you a build sheet, the BMW factory acknowledges your order and assigns a production number, and the dealer and you both sign paperwork establishing the price to be paid for the car.

In the second case, is BMW legally obligated to give you a car from the next model year at the same price? I doubt it, but the difference between these 2 scenarios seems pretty evident to me.

I see, I have a signed agreement on 22 MY for pricing; however, I do plan to see it change for 23MY. Have yet to speak to my CA about building the 23MY with options.
