I may not get to buy this exact car today, but maybe I will buy another car down the line? Customer service, they don't even call back or email to give an update. Let me ask my manager and never heard from them again lol
Not just one dealer but more.

Carbon bucket option price went up for 50th Jahre edition. Options are more likely to cost more for regular MY23 builds as well.

BMW is really sticking it to people who've been waiting months for MY'22 allocations. 'Oh sorry, you don't get a car this year. Here's a $4k price increase, f*ck you'. Don't think I'm interested in paying likely over $5k more on top of higher rates for the same exact car by virtue of missing out on a MY'22 allocation. Those who got and financed this car at 0.9% just even earlier this year are paying a lot less for it. Just about done with this sh!tshow.
This is what is bothering me. I got a prod number back in January. There were many other people on here that ordered after me that went into prod.

Now because of a reason no one can tell me, I was bumped to a MY23 way back in early April. This is going to cost me thousands more and BMW and my CA don't care and just give the generic, part shortages and supply chain. Don't like it, cancel your order. How about some good customer service and help those people out who have been waiting with some incentives.

Agreed, that sucks. I'm not sure there's a good answer here, but you have my sympathies.

I am almost in the same boat. Production # in January, week 11 build. All W11s got skipped and thrown to the back of the line. I went to 20 then 23. Many other guys come along, get allocated after and are already built and shipped. I ordered a CT5-V Blackwing in September last year, and a 2nd in December. Neither has been accepted yet and now that increase for MY23 is 7k for the base car and thousands more on the packages I had. Oh well, out of my control, I have the choice to pay the extra or pass.

For those of you looking for some info on Canadian price increases here is what I can tell you based on my MY23 M4CX build. (I was one of those caught in the no production week available for MY22 and had to flip to a MY23)

BASE PRICE HAS INCREASED $1900 ($94,300- $96,200)

PREMIUM PACKAGE HAS DECREASED ($6,300-$5,850)

FULL CARBON PACKAGE HAS INCREASED ($8,500-$10,000)

NO PRICE CHANGE ON THE FOLLOWING:

-STANDARD PAINT
-M COMPOUND BRAKES
-SHADOW LINE HEADLIGHTS
-CARBON FIBRE TRIM

Based on what we are seeing in the US, I think the Canadian market made out quite well. I was expecting more sticker shock based on what the US market did on the base price alone.

One line item that appears not to have changed at all is the destination & handling ($995). I'm surprised they didn't see an opportunity tack on a $200 fuel surcharge here, if nothing else.

They will tack that on "MSRP."

Your dealer would be more than happy to take that fuel surcharge

Destination and Handling was as low as $195 10 years ago. I think it's just going to be pure greed for them to charge any more than that.

Two of my 2018 cars had $395 / $495 D&H charges. I get it, fuel and logistics is a nightmare but at some point they have to stop gouging a customer. That is the point of a mark up cost, in the future, it CAN very well go away. MSRP and fee raises RARELY go away.

I think it's been a while since I saw this kinda destination fee charged by any manufacturer. So what are these vehicles which you bought in 2018.

Destination fee charged for this platform is very reasonable when compared to other manufacturers. Several of them charge almost $1300 for vehicles manufactured in the US.

I'll bet it actually costs more than $995 to transport a car from a factory in Germany to a dealership anywhere in the US of A.
It probably costs more than that to build a car in Detroit (do they still do that?) and send it to a dealership in California.
You and I are going to pay for it one way or another, but the $995 is just a number that probably has very little to do with the actual cost.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with distribution cost - just not on an individual basis. Think of it as a blanket shipping cost across all distribution channels. Companies often have variance accounts setup to absorb instances of increased cost, while benefitting from instances of lower cost.

For example - A customer who has picks up a car at the factory in South Carolina, and a customer who picks up the car at their local dealer in California, both pay the same $995 destination charge. However the South Carolina pickup option may not cost BMW anything, while the California shipment may cost BMW $1,990. But because both customers are paying the blanket $995 charge, it evens out for BMW's expense. This is a HIGHLY simplified example but the point is, BMW has determined that $995 is the appropriate charge to cover their national outbound distribution expense.

While the transportation costs do vary for domestic production vs other countries, the destination charges are blanketed across carlines…it would be too complicated to have different destination charges for different areas and would also give some markets an unfair (from a dealer perspective) pricing advantage. Destination charges also account for a lot more than just hiring a truck or a boat though… vehicle protection, logistics and port employees, facility and property rent factors, etc. Those factors are always on the rise so pretty common to see destination charges increase at least once a year.

Really clowned myself. I'm still going to stick it out as I don't have a car at the moment, but hey BMW, screw you.
I guess I am really lucky. Someone ordered a 2022 M4 Competition Cabriolet - black sapphire on full kyalami orange leather interior and they didn't want it. I had a 440 Cab and I got very good trade in value - I got my M4 fully loaded without carbon seats for 107K in September 2021 at the BMW Dealership. I see the prices now and it's 127K for my same spec. That is NUTS - insane!! Guys I know we love BMW but I would never pay the prices they have now.
