Why should I have to pay extra for something out of my control? If they pushed by build past a production run cycle out of my control (I am not making changes), then they (BMW) should honor my original cost of the vehicle. It would be insane to charge customers more money for something not in their control. But I guess we live in a pretty insane world these days so it would not come as a shock
While I too hope they honor 22 pricing I'm going to play devils advocate…If I show up at chick-fil-a and they run out of nuggets, I either order something else or go elsewhere. If I have not paid them, they owe me nothing. In the same sense, BMW is in no way obligated to honor it in the same way you or I are not obligated to purchase the car. On top of that BMW does not set pricing with customers as it does not sell to consumers directly, that is done by franchise dealers who control the retail process - including the price.

If they can't build the cars, they can't sell them to dealers, which means they make less money. Which is the main factor driving MSRP and invoice increases. It may not be in our control but it is not in BMW or the dealers control either. No one can predict Covid shutdowns, supply shortages, etc. and with the cost of raw materials increasing, they can't be expected to absorb the costs and maintain the profitability necessary to be a successful and sustainable company.

All that said 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤣

I want to preface this by saying, my local BMW dealership is a small hidden gem, Burdick BMW in Syracuse NY. It’s been my experience with them and BMW corporate that they will do whatever they reasonably can do to fill your order at the agreed upon spec/price/rate. In my case I believe they went over and beyond, so much so I recommended them for the Center of Excellence Award. I wrote to the top seven executives at corporate and heard back personally from three of them, including the head honcho at the time, Bernhard Kuhnt.
They can’t make each and every customer happy, but I got the strong sense that they try. My two cents/my experience, I hope it works out for you, keep hope alive!!

My dealer honored the original pricing even though there were some minor MSRP increases after my order was accepted. But if my MY22 was pushed to MY23, i am not sure how they would have handed it. Delays caused in the current market are beyond any manufacturers control and BMW would not willfully pushed any orders to MY23.

Recently, Rivian faced a huge backlash as they bumped the MSRP by almost $12k even for customers who had an order.

That's great to hear! I'm certain BMW (and many dealers) want to provide a great experience. My current dealer included, who is assuring me the price will be matched to the 23MY. For some of the dealers, I'd presume the same ones price gouging, will not give much consideration as they know they will have plenty of customers in the queue even if the ones waiting drop out due to price changes.

Let's hope it works out for all of us

Anyone heard order could be switched to MY23, I haven't checked with my SA for a while and pretty sure they have no clue.

Only thing my SA said was that my current order would be honored by them and price locked. They've stuck to that since January when order was originally place and received a production number.

Anyone else feeling a bit disheartened?! From putting a deposit down in November 2021, to having production go from week 9-11-18-17-25. Had my production gone as scheduled, I would have had the car now or within a week.

Now, with June production it's looking more like July/august delivery and I assume MY23's will be out two months later

I totally get this is a privileged position to be in and it could be a lot worse given the current conditions but … still sucks

Not sure how much more I can keep checking this forum or my bmw garage…

I feel you man, it's not fun just waiting especially that there isn't any definitive date set.

When you give them your production number they will be able to give you the VIN number if it is available. That is why i keep calling them instead of bugging my dealer.A few of them have also been able to give the production week but when you ask other ones they have no idea how to give that info. Its amazing that after all these years they still haven't updated the system.

My problem is I have been calling them asking for build week, way ahead of getting vin.

All I got was asking SA for help, pissing me off.

Isn't week 25 still MY'22?

Nobody knows what the price increase will be. Most likely between $1-3k and hopefully some more standard equipment thrown in. Not really apples to apples but the base price of a Cayenne S I have on order just went up $1800 yesterday with the model year change. Could be worse.

I believe you're correct, it is still 22, nothing has been mentioned that it will be 23

BMW has not released any allocations for MY23. If your build is scheduled for CW25, its still a MY22. As of now, everyone is just speculating on on MY23 price increase. It can be anything between $1k to $3k.

Yes its MY 22 allocation but let's see if week 25 gets pushed over to MY23 or not. Crazy times !!

Did anyone get a doc with their interest rate during the time of deposit/allocation? I thought I had received one but can't find it.
